Getting an Error at launcher bootup

Except not have made us link the game/launcher to steam account in the first place but that ship has sailed.

Well they also killed the whole "Steam Bypass" trick a long time ago. So the only other solution is to just wait this problem out sadly. I'm sure this is starting to affect other games on Steam as well. At least those that have a similar launcher interface. Heck their forums are all broken too apparently.

For any one still experiencing the issue, could you try the following:

. Delete or rename the "etc" folder that exists within the game's installation folder. Please also check the game folder in "My Games" as well.

Below are the default locations for the installation folder:

- Standard Windows version -
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

- Steam version -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

I deleted everything related to the game and reinstalled and the same thing happening, the steam discussion boards are all messed up too from the looks of things

Is there a way to transfer an account off of Steam. I'd even be willing to buy a new license ... not sure why I bought it that way to start, but it has zero upside and lots of problems.

I don't have that folder anywhere in my PC and I still can't launch.
