Improve Apartment Features

This is strictly related to Apartments. Not Private House or FC plots.
Please make clear distinctions when talking about Housing here & in other threads! Housing basically generalizes apartments & FC rooms into the category, so if you mean to discuss medium house plots for example, don't generalize it into just "housing" be specific please!

Why? SE might consider apartments/ FC rooms to be sufficient enough housing, but it is NOT.

The truth is: Apartments are not adequate housing when Private house & FC house plots offer more features such as: Outside decorations, Gardens, tenants & roommates. They also offer larger item spaces & easier to decorate due to bottom floors being accessible for house glitching.

Apartments (and Fc rooms) Offer only limited item space & storage. In Apartments & FC rooms, currently you cannot have a tenant or 'room mate' who shares the same space as you, which is a feature that only private house/ FC plots allow. Apartments & FC rooms are limited in how you can decorate them as well as the amount of items you can store & place.
Why is sharing an apartment/ FC room with another player important? It saves on gil, space & they can help decorate/ add items. (I'm 100% certain there are other reasons, these are just mine)

Improve Apartments by increasing their sizes. Add extra rooms (similar to the FC workshop) but it's an outside balcony plot that can be decorated with outside decor & a garden.

Improve Apartments & FC room item space AND storage- give them floor layouts- an apartment with the interior of a small(cottage) private house (200 item with a basement)
but it can be upgraded in item space/ floors with extra gil to medium & large sizes.

The only reason I even wanted a private house is because of the cute yard & the house offered MORE item space than an Apartment.

I would add: Allow apartments the ability to add at least one other person as a tenant... not just for RP purposes but so others can help decorate said apartments.

And yeah, you're right about apartments not being adequate. I realize that over in JP it's not at all unusual for someone to live in a tiny space and make it work, but this is a little too restrictive and it's hard to 'make it work' when you only have only 100 slots. It can be done... but you gotta get really creative.

2) placing furniture is stressing & tricky due to being careful about size & not overlapping over other objects
3) unintentionally you end up cluttering with far too many furniture around; OCD trigger

What OP & the person above mention, please take into account on how it could be improved & I believe this may bring in player’s interests apart from house competition lotter.

It aint limited, it aint cramped, and it wasnt tricky to do.

My retainers bring back enough housing stuff within a week to fill a current regular apartment / FC apartment.

If you enjoy them that's great and I'm honestly happy for you, but when folks cannot reasonably acquire a small house SE is gating that content.

It needs to be fixed through instanced housing, larger apartments or whatever to allow all players reasonable access to an advertised feature.

I mean come on. If you're house shopping and the pictures are of a nice little one story villa, and you arrive and it's a 10 story apartment complex...? That's false advertising.

You realize you had a bit of a contradiction with your points. First you complain about limited capacity then you complain that too many items will trigger a response from OCD.

Your second point about having to be cautious about not overlapping also makes no sense. Some of the most highly praised housing designs (even in apartments) involve overlapping items to create an appearance not otherwise possible.

It's not size that determines what is or isn't an apartment. A apartment is a unit within a multi-family residential building where the building has a single owner but each unit has separate residents. The unit can be a single room, multiple rooms, or even an entire floor of the building. What we have would still be considered apartments.

Most of us would be in agreement that increasing the size of apartments would make them more desirable to more players. We should continue to ask SE to update the system.

But until such time as SE does something, we need to work with what's available.

Ditto on this all players should be able to upgrade their plots instead of large and mediums being limited to lucky few (mostly bots and plot sellers)
