Yeah i have already arranged my hud that way cause i saw that in a typs video earlier today. But what i found really helping the most was totally eliminate the Battle effects of the other party members cause that whole light and sound show hides a lot of important stuff. Example i"m kind of running the Labyrinth today with the purpose of farming the crimson set and not to die once. You have that king behemoth boss and i noticed i always died after him casting "meteor eclipse" but didn't understand why until i looked it up and you simply have to cut line of sight by hiding behind a rock but i simply never noticed these rocks cause they were hidden behind all the spells of my party members. So idd same kind of thing as with the fight with Garuda were you also hide behind a rock. So that was it next runs i didn't die anymore. Lets say i know the emote labyrinth dance now ; ) So i would say nullify the effects of other party people is a major tip in this fame for a noob. In wow it was the lag created by the spells that caused problems but not the effects hiding important stuff

Summoner can be quite effect heavy and make it hard to see, even with other player's effect disabled. At level 70 and above you'll be able to summon large primals that are good at blocking your view. You can shrink them down with a text command.

For example to make everything small (including other player's pets):
    /petsize all small

I think the others might have overlooked something in your post that might be explaining a large part of your problem - battle effects.

Not all of us love all the flashy lights as they can be a distraction from what we're trying to do and when there are too many they can make it hard to see AoE telegraphs.

Go into Character Customization - Control Settings - Character and change the Battle Effects settings at the bottom of the window. Personally I use Show All for Own (Limited will work if you find it still too much), Show Limited for Party, and Show None for Others. If you've made multiple characters, you'll need to do these changes separately for each character.

It makes a huge difference in being able to see what's going on. Hopefully that will make dungeons a better experience for you.

As for the number of AoEs, just like WoW you'll get used to all the fight mechanics after you've done the dungeons a few times. Give yourself a chance to learn the content. Most of us (always the occasional jerk out there) are understanding when it comes to others trying to learn the content.

I know you mentioned that you're almost level 60 so you're no doubt into the dungeons that do not currently have Duty Support (SE is slowly getting it added to older dungeons) but you can always use it again to practice dungeons you felt had mechanics that were more difficult to learn.

Also pay attention to Espon's good advice about how enemy abilities snapshot. You generally want to move right away even if it's interrupting your cast until you learn the mechanic timing and will know if you have time to finish or if you still need to move immediately. There is one exception to the snapshotting I've found and that's Gaze mechanics (when there's a red eye over the boss). You generally want to make certain the animation for the spell has completed before turning back to look at the boss. Otherwise, just move out of the orange telegraph (if there is one) when it appears, stay out until it disappears, and then you can move back when it's gone regardless of the boss animation.

    Fun facts

    1. Summoner has ONLY 2 abilities during Ifrit phase that needs long cast time and 1 of these can be insta casted with swiftcast that is a general ability for all caster mages. (put it on your cast bar) Summoner is one of the best mage in some ultimate runs because it is basically a non-caster caster... so I think if you find this one difficult to play, the problem is perhaps with your knowledge of the class.

    2. There is an option in the game under character settings where u can set visualisation of your, your team members and other spell effects. GO to your settings and set them "show limited" or "show none" if you don't want to see them. Party spells are good to set to "show limited" so you can see shields set on the ground.

    3. If you feel that there is an issue with someone in the party, cause they are rushing, perhaps you should type in chat that "hey, im new, please go slow cause I would like to enjoy the run"
It happens to me sometimes in dungeons where there are "readable" content. If I go as a tank, I will wait for them to read the things.

    4. there may be other players with you who are sprouts and have no clue what to do, so you yourself should be more patient with tanks when they have the sprout icon on their name.

FFXIV does have many issues but none what you noted are unsolvable.

Please have a bit more open mindset and feel free to ask people for help if you feel you struggle with something, because the issue might be not with anyone else, or the game, but within you...

You may also use the "trust" system where bots are overprotective about the player.

In any case, I cannot change your mind. These are just pointers to think about. At the end you can decide what you want to do.

Remember that unlike WoW, ff14 has no limit on combat raises. Dying is very normal when you're new. Even more so when you get to higher level raids and trials. Because of how the healers and even several dps can rez the entire group several times over, more mechanics will outright kill you until you figure out the trick to compensate. This makes it feel rather difficult starting out, but quite easy when you have experience and know the fights.

Expect to die a lot on your journey. It's normal, stick with it.

After 6.1 Ruby Rite's recast time is longer than it's cast time so you don't really gain anything from using Swiftcast on it, and even before that change it could potentially mess with your Demi summon timing.

You usually use Swiftcast on Garuda's Slipstream (slightly longer cast time than Ruby Rite and potential to snapshot party buffs) if you use Swiftcast at all. If you run into movement issues during Ifrit you can just swap your summons around.

Gemshine only has a cast in ifrit phase though, is the thing, which means your other beast skills *are instant* during garuda and titan. you shouldn't be avoiding gemshine.

Another advice for dodging: pay attention to the castbars. Not your own, the enemy castbar(s).
Forget what you know about WoW, it's not important. FFXIV is a different game, having done this or that will help you little if at all in FFXIV and on the contrary, may even confuse you and lead to you approaching things the wrong way - like dodging.
There is nothing stupid or unpredictable about dodge timings and don't get confused by some people claiming "yeeaaaaah it's just the stupid server ticks haha". That's an excuse for being too slow. Pulsing effects are on the server tick and thus tick roughly every 3s but regular skills are generally not.

Almost every skill snapshots the damage when the cast completes. Animations (and sometimes even telegraphs) are largely irrelevant. If it has a castbar, watch the castbar to see how much time you have to dodge. If you are inside the danger zone when the cast completed it doesn't matter if you managed to make it out of the telegraphed area before the explosion went off or dodged the enemy effect. You will get hit.
There are some skills that have a castbar but don't follow this pattern but they're rare and it's something that affects savage and ultimate mostly.
Even most things like bomb boulders exploding have a castbar, you can see them listed as untargetable enemies with the bar next to them.
If a skill doesn't have a castbar, watch the telegraph. If you still stand inside as it's about to disappear you will get it. Again, it doesn't matter if it looked like you dodged the explosion of the effect going off.

Well dunno what the lodestone app says now but i can assure you that i now have the full ilvl 130 ironworks set except my relic weapon that is ilvl 100. I rearranged my ui to have the ennemy castbar big in the middle above mine and i also disabled the spells of my partymembers cause all those spells limited the view of what i actually had to see. And i now run most without dying except when i make a silly mistake or wrong place wrong time. But i still do have some trouble with these orange aoe on the ground as from the moment i am in one i run out of it but even out of that spot i still get hit. Doesn't make much sense to me but i guess i will have to get used to it. I also did Garuda, ifrit and titan on extreme were i each time died halfway but yeah thats some crazy stuff. Will already be happy if i can do normal/hard to start with. Although there is one boss in hard mode that i did one time and got really scared off called Maxome Molaa Ja Ja in The wanderers palace

Specifically wanderers palace(hard). That boss has a couple things going on. From memory... he casts a Doom spell that i think the healer needs to Esuna off of the target. He likes to target his giant cone aoe at the target farthest away from him, so standing closer both makes the dodge easier and makes it less likely to be centered on you. He constantly raises banners. These arent worth destroying, the tank should just drag him clear. When he drops an idol, THOSE must be destroyed ASAP(im blanking if they buff him or debuff you, but the effect was nasty). In addition, you probly shouldnt let his adds stay too long. All in all, they arent really THAT hard of a boss. None of those are hard things to do, he just has a lot of the little things.
