Dream scenario: NieR Replicant trial crossover.

The fact we didn't get a 9S or A2 coffer is worth complaining about tbf.

Wr lost out on an incredibly comfy looking pair of shorts and the Destroyer armor. Or alternatively, A2's aesthetically pleasing charred flesh if you're into that sorta thing.

The Destroyer armor would've been insanely good to have and maybe A2's hairstyle (even if it clips a bit).

The "Destroyer Armor" is Brother Nier's adult outfit that I mentioned in the OP. It's from Replicant, so a Replicant themed crossover trial would be a good way to introduce the outfit as a glam.

Edit to add: All the optional outfits from Automata that you get from the arenas are callbacks to Replicant. 9S gets Brother Nier's teenage outfit, 2B gets Kaine's outfit, and as I mentioned A2 gets Brother Nier's adult outfit. The pod skin "Grimoire Weiss" is just a character from Replicant as well.

I'd be happy if they just gradually add some of the stuff they left on the table in as rewards via other means without doing another full blown crossover
similar to how the pod mount can just be purchased at the gold saucer
especially things that are technically kinda already in FFXIV like the Yorha Flight Unit, 9S outfit, Yorha Heavy Armor outfit, and Red Girl outfit

though I'd also like A2 and Kaine's outfits, and an Emil headpiece (really surprised we didn't get that), and heck all 5 sisters outfits from drakengard3

Also considering how much they mined FF Type-0 assets without much fanfare or acknowledgement (like with how many players I see using the "make it rain" hairstyle I'm sure there's sizable subsection of them that really enjoy it without ever knowing it's Sice's hairstyle from type-0) so I still have hopium that we could get some more Nier/Drakengard items at least but I extremely doubt we'll get another actual crossover event

I wouldn't mind that too much as long as we got the glams and whatnot. I'd kill for a Grimoire Weiss minion or Brother Nier's adult outfit. But I just don't see that type of stuff being added without a crossover event to tie it in with. The pods required no explanation, so just tossing them into the gold saucer wasn't a big deal. Replicant glams/minions however probably couldn't just be done like that. It would require at least a temporary event for it to not feel out of place.

It ends up with marketing element (For Nier Replicant) because Nier story in FFXIV ends with really horrible ending and anticlimatic. I prefer more original FFXIV story than another collab-that-turns-into-ads.

(Also because of Nier, Hrothgar's first new hair is that wig america without ears )

I was on board with the whole thing up until Paradigm's Breach. It was only downhill from there, in my opinion. Loved Puppet's Bunker to pieces though, and I was really let down by everything that followed. Those were some of the most enjoyable boss encounters in the game for me. Paradigm's Breach felt more like "BTW BUY NIER NOW!" instead of a continuation of the story and it didn't make any real sense story wise. The weekly quests after did nothing to address that either. Yoko Taro was clearly just...over it. I love Nier, but he has none whatsoever for FF XIV. And it showed.

I do agree that gear models already in the game for NPCs should be made available. Could easily add a glamour coffer to the second and third raids, at least.

Again as I pointed out there was ZERO fanfare or acknowledgment of the ff type-0 things that were recycled into ffxiv
which is hairstyles from almost the entire main cast and a crap ton of enemy models in Bozja and Zadnor

minions are already so all over the place that Grimoire Weiss shouldn't cause anyone to bat an eye
there's already an anthropomorphic book minion even Page 63

And gear styles that already exist in game run the gamut from fantasy to sci-fi to modern so nothing from any of the drakengard or nier games would look particularly out of place imo

The NieR raids themselves were great, if you completely and totally ignored the story attached to them.
Their story acted as basically an anti-advertisement for NieR, convincing me not to bother looking into buying it.

If they're going to do another crossover - well, first, I don't think NieR needs another one, at least not right away.
And second - I hope they handle the next crossover like FF15 or Dragon Quest or even Yo-kai Watch, with just some side quests and cosmetic rewards; not hijack one of the expansion's main venues of story-telling. Again.
