    Mimic class

    What about a mimic class?
    The Mime.

Would just like Gau+Gogo in FFVI (FF3 US), you morph/act as a monster and get all of his moves scaled to your level and stats. Also, you get the ability to "mimic" any last action of any PC/NPC/monster you target.

As you level up, you earn monster "profiles" with expended move sets when you morph/act as this monster (instead of earning actual abilities, you earn profiles for more abilities when morphed/acting as a monster).

Ex.: Level 1, profile Rat (Instead of getting only 2~3 abilities from copying a specific Rat, you get more abilities from all the "squirrel/rat" in Eorzea).

It is different from Blue Magic in the sense you do you copy only 1 move but the entire set of a monster. You are also limited to those copied abilities + free class abilities.

What would be the job of the Mime? Blue Mage, obviously!
You get rid of the inconvenience of not being able to equip other monsters abilities, but you get less abilities from a copied monster.

Just a thought, it obviously need adjustments and I'm sure the devs and community will happily comment on this.

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

I'm not a fan of this idea really, but I am curious... what weapon would you have a mime use?

I'm not sure, what do you think would go well with a mimic/blue mage?
    Morning star? Knout? Hooks?

Hand-mirror. Yes. Also, look at the weapon types for Mime in FFV (knives, rods, staves) and for Gau (shields only). In Tactics they had no weapons.

Finally, note that FFXIV borrows heavily from the Ivalice games in terms of gameplay. Tactics Advance introduced Morpher, which sounds exactly like what you describe minus the Mimic ability. Unfortunately it was taken out of the roster for TA2 because it was a complicated class. I think it's a cool idea, and I LOVED using it in FFTA (Panther Soul ftw), but until we see how good the new severs are I won't get my hopes up.

    Thank you for your support.

However, that is the main problem now: only few get their hopes up.
We have yet to see the promises of 2.0 and we have yet to see the cursed Skinner Boxes (stretched grinding content) fade from the game.
I would like to bring my hopes up that Yoshi-P will bring new interesting and strategic content, not pure grind content.

And for that we need cool and complex stuff.

i love this idea. im pretty underwhelmed with the battle classes as they are. its just all attack and no finesse. the old THM had some fun quirks that made battles much more interesting, but now..../lament
