Can we have more options on Eternal Bonding please?

We just get our 1st anniversary notification and planned to do the wedding again, until I realized the options are same with our first wedding with Platinum...

It's like 6 years over and we still don't have new color, music, or even more way to hold the wedding. I think it's time it needs an update so we could do more fun stuff on the anniversary

    Just do an event yourself.
Pick a place, invite people, socialize.
That dancer place in RAH is a good place for events.

On one hand... sure, they can.

On the other hand, it's a rather old and bland system. It could use some new stuff, it has been a while and the game has so much more to offer.

Yeah basically this. We can do the event by our creativity, but for the wedding system, it's quite old and no new stuff till now...

Honestly, it wouldn't even be asking for much. A wider selection of music arrangements, different decorations, maybe a few things here and there around the chapel... Plus, now that Aglaia is out, make our relationship to our patron deity more pronounced than just the symbols on a window. Oh, and potentially also simplify the quest, or make it a bit more interactive than just /pray for cutscenes.

TLDR, there's so much they could do with the way it's currently designed, pick your poison, really.

oh yeah, I'm not saying the system shouldn't be updated.
    It definitely should be.
But if they want something different now, the old system is not to be relied on.
Unless they want to wait an indeterminate amount of time for something that might or might not be updated.

I remember back in FFXI you could have your wedding in Jeuno's chapel for a regular fee... or you could really shell out the gil to have your wedding elsewhere. They streamlined it some so you could have your chaperone (you didn't put in for your own wedding, someone else did) choose a number of places in Jeuno or the three main city-states for the same fee originally, OR a different venue which increased the cost of the wedding itself to also accommodate how many people were in attendance, up to 40 people. They also had specific styles:

    "Windurstian Style

Windurstian weddings are based on a traditional Tarutaru ceremony created by the first Star Sibyl. A Sibyl Celebrant presides over the ceremony in the Star Sibyl's place. This is an excellent choice for those who want a cheerful ceremony. The bride and groom must each prepare an offering of food beforehand.

    San d'Orian Style

In a traditional San d'Orian wedding, the bride and groom swear lifelong loyalty to each other before the Goddess Altana. A Temple Knight presides over this solemn ceremony. The bride and groom must bring their weapons to the ceremony for their vows.

    Bastokan Style

Registrars from the Department of Industry preside over these informal and relaxed ceremonies. The bride, groom, and chaperone join in a toast with drinks provided by the President."

A little similar to the styles we have in XIV (Moogle, sign your name, do a toast) but having more options for a different cultural-style wedding would be cool too!

I wouldn't mind if XIV did something similar where you could have your wedding at the place its always been at, or a different place that's special to you and your partner (within reason - no landslides during your wedding, please!), or like above with a different cultural wedding style for the city-states. That may be pandering a little to the roleplayers, but I know regular players would want to see an Ala Mhigan-style or an Ishgardian-style bonding as well Not sure how they'd compensate for a different wedding venue since XI's weddings were solely through gil (and a lot of gil if you weren't the best at farming it) and the good packages are real money, but I'm sure they can think of something.

Weddings in FFXI used to be conducted by real life game masters.

That too! I can figure why they don't have it like that in XIV, but to have the cool spectral GM presiding over your wedding was always nifty

The only thing that really bugs me about eternal bond ceremonies is that there is only 1 option (the one with the moogle priest) that ends with a kiss. Every option should have the sub-option to end with a kiss, because a kiss is the absolute norm in every wedding in pretty much every culture in the world by now, except for maybe a handful of stuck up ones, which sadly include Japan (no, a simple kiss is most definitely NOT foreplay).
