I've been genuinely wondering if the conclusion to the ARR story should have developed over the patch content. It just feels like a lot to wrap up, and we went through it at warp speed. I felt both bored and experiencing intense whiplash several times.
i think we got enough time to develop all the plot points inBeast tribes are not MSQ and you are not forced to do it.
As for "story can't be all exciting- no one sait need to be just cut the go here go there go here go there BS. There can and need to be calmed parts. Like when we All sit in a cafe and talk. As for the story will fill rushed if no fuller, did you played EW? It was the most rushed one so far. Way to much things that was given 0 time to develop. It's like we go to war , fast we go to the moon, fast we go to 5hr past if a non existent world , fast we go to space. Fillers did not help.
ARR,HW,SB and ShB
I find it more that any thing show we got no place in this world no meter what we do. No one care after all.Things like that are good for world-building and they help keep our character grounded. They help us feel our place in the world.
Square tried a story more like what the OP wants with XIII. You were basically running from one hallway to another. You didn't really interact with the people in each hallway except for one or two story points. So you didn't find out much about them and you weren't really able to have a connection to them. Part of that was by XIII's design that you're essentially criminals, but we're not criminals. We're the Warrior of Light. Part of our personality is interacting with the world.
dude did you see how hilarious puddingway was?? he's like looking for pudding dude xD he's so wacky haha dude PUDDING lmao ignore all those innocent thavnairians you just watched die in garlemald lmao dude PUDDING he wants the pudding!! funny rabbit creature want pudding xD
Sure, though that's generally the case with any game with a large game world. It still felt 'lived in' to a degree that FFXIV sadly does not. I have a great many complaints in regards to the direction WoW took but to give praise where praise is due I was very happy with the world itself being a canvas I could meaningfully interact with and explore. Sometimes it's the little things that go a long way.
Don't worry, with 'Tweetingway' being a success I'm sure we'll see the Lopporits milked for all they're worth from this point onwards.dude did you see how hilarious puddingway was?? he's like looking for pudding dude xD he's so wacky haha dude PUDDING lmao ignore all those innocent thavnairians you just watched die in garlemald lmao dude PUDDING he wants the pudding!! funny rabbit creature want pudding xD
And pretty much all story-telling methods rely on high points and low points. Calm parts are a necessity or people end up at risk of being exhausted by a constant high.
And FFXIV arguably got some of the best usage of filler we have gotten in a game. Even when it's filler it still builds upon the world and at any moment that "filler" can actually resurface later related to something more major.
The burning sky part didn't appear until after we were done with the rabbits, and they served as a calm moment for us after reaching the climax of both the Empire and Zodiark.
Guess that they originally planned for us to be forced to complete at least one of the role quests like with Shadowbringers for that part too. To reinforce the idea that the ship took time.On the moon, the sky is not on fire yet because it takes time for the final days to start. In Labyrinthos, SE wanted to create the feeling that the ship took a lot of time to upgrade and that you had to wait for it and the only way to achieve that effect is filler. Fading to black isn't the same because then when you remember the story, you won't remember a long wait.

No where you get it from. Even read what 8 say? I do not ask to delete all side quests but to make the filler msq side quests. You want to lvk from them,go on. You want from dungeon? Here you go and so on.
Yes, I played EW but I did all of the sidequests over the 2 weeks as well, so it didn't feel rushed to me at all.As for the story will fill rushed if no fuller, did you played EW? It was the most rushed one so far. Way to much things that was given 0 time to develop. In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."
