For myself, when looking at possible future MMOs, I see housing as meaning "A House". House to me signifies, a home, yard, etc. Because of the possibility of mileading or fraudulant informantion, I now search the forums or Reditt to ensure claification before I purchase. These days I take nothing at face value.Jojoya I mean no disrespect here - but can you (or someone) point to where SE defines housing? All I've seen is that advertisement that has a clear picture of a house.
I'm making a presumption that apartments are not housing. Forum posters that disagree with me are also making a presumption. This seems to be due to a lack of communication on SE's part, which we only care about due to a supply vs. demand issue.
The Lodestone post about opening up more houses for personal use acknowledges a supply issue. SE would do themselves a big favor by saying that they plan on addressing housing supply in future patches; what they're doing now does not come close to addressing it.
Without demolition in place and with the wards so full on many servers, this problem could continue for years like it already has.
In my opinion they're going to lose a lot of players over this and it could be avoided.
"Fanboy is gaming jargon used to describe an individual that has gone beyond the point of being a PC or console game fan and, during online chats or discussions, shifts to defend the program at all costs, unable to take any criticism or acknowledge any shortcomings of the game or gaming console."
Buy an apartment.
HOW is it possible to not own a house right now? Are there that many lazy and entitled people here? This is a game, and for anything worth having you have to play the game. SE I'm sorry for this dribble of laziness littering your forums. I'm sorry that people want to tear you apart because you didn't give them a house outright. This is the saddest group of spoiled brats. And if you don't like to hear that, it's okay. I've heard you call me greedy and selfish endlessly because I own more than one house. FFS, I PLAY THE GAME. I won my first house after clicking a placard for 8 hours 2.5 years ago. If you don't play the game, you don't need a house. If you don't know how to play the game LEARN. Seriously, if you haven't figured out how to create an FC and buy and Empy small with no competition, you have lost the game - accept it.
Your user name tips your hand as a troll. Probably not a smart choice.HOW is it possible to not own a house right now? Are there that many lazy and entitled people here? It's as simple as no one should have to make a shell FC to enjoy house ownership, nor should someone's multi-house ownership lock other players out of the content due to lack of supply.
Standard "stop blaning other players for the situation and start blaming SE" response. If SE had used a smart design in the first place, none of this discussion would be necessary.
I did not tip my hand as a troll, I made it blatantly clear for your brilliant brain to comprehend that I own *many* homes and my take on the subject is in
complete opposition to the many lazy, whiney and entitled posting here who think houses should fall in their entitled laps because they pay a sub.
On these forums I want SE to know that your shrill cries are not voice of the the majority of players, but rather the voice of the entitled - the rest of us play a game for what we want. Maybe you should try playing the game rather than crying about it.
If you don't want to blame SE for not creating an infinite, cheap, devalued housing supply, please blame me! "your tears of unfathomable sadness are delicious"!!! They remind me that what I've played hard for is of great value.

There are literal videos online that show you how to have several hundred mil gil by just vendor flipping as a level 30 sprout... Why would they not have it. I have my actual level 40 sprout on EU with enoguh money to buy a couple of houses and, no my gatherers crafters aint that high level either. No new player is ever going to be able to afford a house to even PARTICIPATE until well after their sprout status has already went away, and most likely the biddings will be done and there won't even be any houses left (depending on when they start, somebody starting ARR now is never getting a house, flat out), so that right there hardlocks a significant chunk of the population out of housing.
