    Cellarage Expansions

Have you thought of wanting to expand your house and make it bigger?
Add more rooms, more items and what not?

Time to start with Cellarage Expansions.
The expansions will only be as big as the yard itself when outside the house, each divided up.
Say a Small house is in North-West corner, there will be 3 expansions to the Cellarage, which would be beneath the yard itself.

Medium and Large houses would have more expansions - say 5 and 7 respectively.

What these expansions would do is give players more room to decorate their houses, and possibly increase the amount of items you can store in each house universally - so regardless of S, M or L house, you get same item storage increase per expansion. To keep it simple, each expansion increases item storage by 30, so Small would be +90, Medium would be +150 and Large would be +250 items - added from base housing item amount, when all expansions are brought.

Expanding the Cellar is just the beginning. Imagine adding additional rooms via some device created from Omega that you can add to your house so you can technically create infinite rooms - similar to how a FC can have 200 rooms, per member, but this would be on a larger scale - say a hallway is added as its own instance inside the house, any room attached is also part of the hallway instance, and there's a door leading back to main building. This would pave way for expandable housing, and perhaps introduce a room limit too as not to expand too big - Small 6 rooms, Medium 15 rooms, Large 40 rooms.

Houses (the part through the door) are an instance. The rooms don't need to be under the yard, they can be anywhere or anything. Very much the same idea as a Tardis.

And while the idea of more space is worthy, when I moved into my Large, which has an object limit of 400 objects, I realised just how silly all the space was due to a shortage of slots to fill it.

I've now blocked off the basement and most of the top floor. My large is effectively just the ground floor and stairs.

So, anything that increases space must also come with an increase to objects - however, the PS4 is certainly holding everyone back there. Suggestions that inside a house could be set to no-PS4 users in exchange for extra objects have met with a lot of hostility.

Aren't they stopping PS4 support soon anyway, as at some point they won't be getting new content for those systems whilst PS5 and PC will continue to get updated, all due to the 1.1 connection that will be made redundant

They said they assess stopping support but nothing was confirmed yet. With the console storages still a thing, they may delay dropping PS4 for a while longer. I guess it really depends how many players who play on PS are actively on 5 compared to 4 closer to the next expac.

YoshiP has said several times that the housing system memory isn't designed to allow existing spaces to be expanded/upgraded as players have frequently requested. Whether one set interior layout could be changed with a larger set interior layout hasn't been mentioned as far as I know.

Short of SE doing a major overhaul of the housing system, I wouldn't expect to see anything of that nature happen as much as most of us who enjoy housing would like it to happen.

Fairly certain I remember them saying during the Next 10 Years broadcast that PS4 support will continue in 7.0 but they couldn't say how long past that. Part of it will depend on how long it takes users to switch from PS4 to PS5 (at the time PS3 support was dropped, it was less than 1% of players still using it).

Before expanding old houses, they should fix their system to ensure that there are enough houses to meet demand.

Like anyone who's stuck with a small and wants a bigger space to decorate more, yes. My idea was to create alts, grind them up far enough to invite them into my own private FC, and create FC rooms with them. I now have 8 rooms in my small house to decorate different things. I have my office, club room, dining room, photo room for pix, bedroom, an entertainment room, and still planning the rest.
Does this solve my need for a bigger house? Not really. My basement is a game room and unfortunately, it is VERY cramped. I manage to make it work with some walking space but I still wish I had a bigger house so it didn't feel so cramped... but at least I was able to get more rooms to decorate more. I think it's a shame you can't do this with a personal house. I'd rather own an FC house than a personal for several reasons like these extra rooms I created.

But yes, I basically got creative and cheated in order to have this.
