Modding and implementing something officially server side aren't the same thing at all, it's kinda silly to compare the two.
The mods have a ton of issues too but even so.
It's completely ridiculous to look at what modders do and then hold it up against the actual devs and say that the modders are '' more competent '' or whatever, it just displays a fundamental lack of understanding of how game development works especially in MMO's and other online games.

Per usual people are SEVERELY oversimplifying things, just like they did with the housing situation last time when people were screaming at the devs and not even understanding what the problem even was.
Even after Yoshi-P came out and explained it in a fair amount of detail people didn't understand it.
There's a lot of complexities that modders don't have to deal with that the actual devs do, there's even less of an argument for comparing the two in online games than in a game like Skyrim for example.

I think that the amount of people who would actually be willing to sacrifice on other content for the sake of Hrothgar helmets or whatever is very low tbh.
This is a far more immense task than you're making it out to be, A LOT of work would go into it and they already struggled to even create Hrothgar to begin with and felt it was necessary to make these sacrifices to even make them a reasonable possibility to begin with.
It's easy to sit in your armchair and judge, but if you know anything about the history of this game and the work culture in Japan it's pretty crazy to act like they're just lazy or whatever.
They work incredibly hard, and if you think that they wouldn't love to give Hrothgar players what they want then I think you're very mistaken.
The reason why it isn't/ hasn't happened yet isn't because they're uncaring, why would they not want to make the players happy?

Some of you seriously talk about this as if the devs are not adding what you want out of spite or something too.
If they actually took on the task in this regard and other content suffered for it too then people would flock to the forum to complain about not getting enough content because their efforts were focused elsewhere too.
It's a no win situation, but the current situation upsets way less people.
