Imagine doing that to someone who loved your game, in front of thousands of people-- especially as a game director with a far greater presence. When the cosplayer placed third, a lot of players called it a "pity win" and got angry a ~real~ cosplayer didn't get the prize.

No one deserved that kind of treatment, and afaik there was never an apology. Not even the waterworks.

Par the course, I guess! Maybe we'll get better hairstyles attached to an NFT purchase.

All I know is Square is helping wreck the environment for a fast buck, just like Shinra. I know people will argue that Yoshida will never let NFTs in FFXIV, but let's look at his track record.

Housing was never going to have a demo timer so players could actually take those breaks he encourages--he outright said demo timers were used by games to keep players subbed.

Hrothgar and Viera were supposed to have waaaay more options than the other races. stares at my third of four or five faces

Hairstyles and hats.

More inventory space that doesn't require a monthly rental.

Yyyyeah, FFXIV is gonna get NFTS, lmao. Even moreso if the rest of the board wants it.

And they used a hroth in the mens and viera in the womens...PROUDLY SHOWING the new $18 glam wouldnt work for hrothgar and viera. But hrothgar and viera can still enjoy being charged the full price for a set with gear that dont function.
What in the hell is their PROBLEM ffs a set you charge extra moneydollars for should work no matter what. I dont care if a hroth or viera wants an uggo set released in arr if you charge players the same amount of money for extra crap, said crap should be made to fit.

Just checking in to see how many of my fellows have just despondently given up hope for jack OR DIDDLY in 6.2.
I gave up because viera, who existed ingame at the exact same time as hrothgar, have 4x the number of hairstyles and hrothgar still cant even use all our base racial hair.

Given up? No. Accepted Square doesn't care? Pretty much. Plus, as upset as I am about the situation, I'm just resigned to having fun with what I can.

Not that it's a good thing, mind you all: it's still a really sh** situation we're in and knowing a lot of people are complacent and even support this is just as garbage as SE not caring. But you can't be Negative Nancy all the time, I have better crap to deal with.

Viera will always have a higher footing until this is all solved and we're all treated equally. And there's zero indication we ever will, so might as well just accept that. Anyone who tries to deny it because "Viera and Hrothgar are on the same boat" can quite frankly kiss my bottom because a) no they ain't, and b) it really doesn't take a genius to prove that, just a bit of awareness other than just what affects you.

My take? Viera can have fun all they want, and why shouldn't they? They asked for the race, and it is incomplete, so if they get stuff, bravo. To them.
Don't lump Hrothgar with Viera, and make sure to know that if there's any race that's truly in the dump, it's not the one with large ears.
All the other races keep having the fun they already have with what they got, and I just hope it doesn't spread to them. Because as fun as it'd be to show up and say "I bloody told you so, suck it hypocrites", it's just being petty. It's a sign something's reeeeally gone wrong, and what we should be focusing is that the opposite happens. That races get as much attention as all the others in the long run and that customers aren't left with an inferior product in comparison to every other subscription payer.

So... yeah. Have fun, give a thought or two about Hrothgar, and just enjoy your race while it lasts.

Except Hyurs. -w- But Hyurs have 0 personality other than being blander than uncooked Lalafells, so really who cares anyway?

I have no expectations for anything Hrothgar until 7.0
So for now Im just enjoying what I can on my ALT. But, Im open to being surprised to see/get anything before 7.0

Now the next copium-filled attempt at justifying the devs actions is to wait for 7.0 and female Hrothgar/the graphical update because surely that will change then, right?

I personally don't believe it. Hrothgar players just don't give them enough money for them to care.

...is it adding fuel to the fire to remind people that Housing, one singular niche glitch with DRG in TEA and PvP Black Mage had a lot more attention from the devs than a whole race complaining across social media for months? Much less counting the three years where they said jack all?

tbh this is why I said I didn't give up. Because yeah, we won't have anything. They don't deem us to be anything worth their time, and they've shown that. So expecting them to do anything right in the future is like wishing on a shooting star.

But then people can't hide behind white knighting and praise the devs for every single factor. They are choosing to ignore a portion of their playerbase for absolutely no reason other than "oops, we made a race that was a bit harder to deal with :x"
And that won't stop me from calling those people out.

It's irresponsible, no matter how few of us there are. Because we didn't ask for this race, they were the ones who wanted it in. So why punish us to care for stuff they added to the game? Next time there's a dungeon, an ultimate or whatever, why should I feel compelled to enjoy it? So that they ignore it when people have feedback about it? Great attitude from a development team.

I just want to see a post by Yoshida going over all the reasons why the staff can't seem to manage it while 'others' can so easily. Like what is actually holding them back?
