I wouldn't mind if they had some kind of CC immunity or a sprint applied during their LB. Something to let them actually do their melee combo from the LB while chasing down one of the players they just feared.Yup. Pop it and hope you can toss Communio before you get nuked into oblivion. That's if someone wasn't out of the Hysteria range and doesn't CC spam and stun you, then you get nuked by EVERYONE. I wouldn't bother listening to Grinning Serpent or Bubbly Boar. Neither one of them even have Reaper unlocked. They do however have every current meta S Tier and A Tier PvP job unlocked and leveled. Including broken Black Mage that Yoshi P publicly apologized for overbuffing and overtuning. Though they are going to tell us "get good" and "you're just bad." Yeah sure... sounds like a couple meta humpers defending their precious meta jobs to win. God forbid there be another job that can actually stand up to them.
Sprint can be used or we can use Hell's Ingress for that. CC Immunity would be good though. We don't get to "blow everything we got" like all the other melee DPS LB's and are WAY too vulnerable after using our LB, but only for 5 seconds. Making it so we're immune to CC the whole time we're Enshrouded would be too strong. I don't know if it's possible but maybe make Hell's Ingress targetable dash attack with a low potency like 5k or something to quickly catch up to someone who's got Hysteria so we can actually use Void Reaping. We have to decide if we want to Communio or Void Reap. If you are going to Hell's Ingress and Void Reap, better make sure you're not going to in the middle of the entire enemy team. Better to Communio and stay out. Though if you're trying to nuke someone else, better to Hell's Ingress and Void Reap.
Secondly, they need to give us more ways to get Immortal Sacrifice / Soul Sacrifice stacks. Getting just TWO by using Soul Slice which is full OGC is painful enough. Getting more before you get nuked is just plain wasting your time. You have to get lucky and kill someone or get an assist to get anything more than two. We need more ways to to get our potency of Plentiful Harvest increased via stacks. Maybe one stack for a full Infernal Slice 1-2-3.
I mean like a sprint that doesn't turn off. The minute you attack your sprint goes away, but ya a CC immunity would be nicer.Sprint can be used or we can use Hell's Ingress for that. Honestly I think the LB just needs to be redesigned like nearly all the LB's in the game lol.
Yeah a 45 sec charge time on 2 sec AOE guard break plus unbreakable CC definitely needs to be redesigned.
Oh no, a CC that does no damage and is completely reliant on the team to take advantage of while the RPR spends the entire time chasing and never getting their damage combo off oh look the RPR is dead.
There's a reason you almost never see RPR in higher crystal ranks. They are not that great, but then again you do love to overvalue bad kits and under value the good kits so its about what I'd expect from someone like you who sucks at pvp. Are you still casting fire on BLM and using oregeny thinking it heals you during bloodwhetting? Lawl.
What? RPR is very common in high skill games. It's probably the most common melee next to MNK. The higher the skill level of the game, the more likely you are to see classes with high skill floors like RPR.Oh no, a CC that does no damage and is completely reliant on the team to take advantage of while the RPR spends the entire time chasing and never getting their damage combo off oh look the RPR is dead.

Guess what? Fire is also common in high skill games. Dots are powerful.
I see a RPR maybe once a night. MNK has only sprung up because they can one shot combo BLM's. Any BLM using fire is straight up an idiot outside of extremely niche scenarios where there's only like 1 or 2 enemies and you don't need the CC. In big fight using fire over ice is beyond stupid. Literally one of the top rated BLM's in aether doesn't even have fire on their bar. There's little point to it. The dot is weak and equates to a single recup while the ice does the exact same damage and also stuns allowing for a lighting combo kill which nearly guarantees a kill unlike fire. What? I genuinely laughed at this because it is so true. This Gserpent dude has a standard reply to any balance complaint/suggestion that was not initiated by him: "the job is fine". It doesn't matter how great or awful the job is, he'll always say it's fine. They are not that great, but then again you do love to overvalue bad kits and under value the good kits so its about what I'd expect from someone like you who sucks at pvp. Now, about the topic at hand, I disagree with OP that melee jobs are falling behind. Full disclosure, the only melee job I play consistently is the Dragoon, and it is in a good spot overall if you use it the way it's supposed to be used. Ninja is better, and now Monk IMO is too. I'm not sure where SAM and RPR stand currently. I would still argue that SAM needs to have its LB reworked so that it becomes a consistent ability, not something that stomps new players while not having much impact against more experienced ones. I won't say anything about reaper because I know very little about it.
The fact is that melee jobs do have the tools to perform well. There are plenty of gap closers (for most of them) and the range of ranged jobs is not great - they still have to be close enough to be in danger, especially jobs who have close ranged abilities like MCH, SCH, WHM, etc.

That's because most classes are fine. Most balance whines originate from players who "main" one class or another and then run into something their class isn't suited to handling or something they haven't figured out how to deal with, and so they decide "well I'm great at the game, so the problem must be with the game and not me, so they need to nerf that thing that's beating me."I genuinely laughed at this because it is so true. There aren't any classes that are just so overpowered that you can faceroll games. I'd probably say AST is the strongest class and does need some tuning in one way or another, but no matter how strong it is, you still can't carry a game with it. You still rely on teammates doing at least the bare minimum of what they're supposed to do.
