I always prefer the double totem fights over the single totem fights. Only having to do a fight 50 times instead of 99 times makes it more enjoyable for me.
I made a static for farming, would suggest you do the same! We farm and farm till all 8 have the mount and move on. How I got all my dragons in Shb and how I will farm the panthers later in the expansion.
You jus use totems for items to sell and the farm itself is just fun banter you do w friends a few hours a couple times a week.

The mount system is fair. Whats nice if someone already has the mount it will not let them roll.ill be frank with you i have horrible luck but this rolling system to get a mount sucks a mount that hardly ever drops and you have ben farming it than someone wins when they just join you or you haft to farm 99 totems just which is not fun and not friendly to casual players at all especially if they want the combined mount which than you could haft to farm several hundred totems doing a fights that many times just makes them boring and annoying doing something like increasing the amount of mounts dropped when it does would help tremendously it means people are less likely to leave immediately when they get the mount or decreasing the amount of totems by expansion like endwalker would be 99 shadowbringers 75 stormblood 60 and so on could fix this too maps are in the same boat you can go so many maps without get a portal i hope most of u get the attention of the devs to fix this it single handedly makes the game less fun

Our FC leader is approaching 200 tokens, they are helping others try to farm Endsinger EX and finally saw one drop, a lucky FC member won the roll and we just sat there for minutes saying… they do exist!
0.5% drop rate is kinda crazy, even for this game. This expansion has the worst drop rate in all of the expansions and I have been playing since ARR 2.0. Heck, even the pay to win games have better odds than that.
I mean, that's what the totems are for. Whether it should be 99 or 50 is a bit of an individual opinion thing, but I'm not sure what's more fair than "Everyone rolls with an equal chance to get it, and for the unlucky, there's the pity system so they will eventually get it no matter what just by running it so many times."
Because I am notorious for having bad luck (I rolled a 96 on something once to lose to a 98, and I've also rolled a 2 once and lost to a 3. That wasn't a typo - a person with a THREE beat me...), I kind of just enjoy the fights (I consider the fights in this game fun) and use it as a chance to improve my gameplay. My assumption is I'm there to get totems and help other people get totems. If I win the roll (or even see the mount drop), I do...but since I'm probably not going to (I won SoSEx gwib my 10th clear or so and Ruby my 2nd, but those are the only two I've ever gotten in less than 50 kills), I just enjoy the experience, make some friends for my friends list, and roll in totems. Once I have more than 70 or so, I start passing on the mounts if they drop since...I guess I'm semi-selfless like that? If I'm already that far in, well, in for a penny...
Desynth the gear that I don't need (once I've geared out all my alts and am rolling in the stuff) and collect a totem pile +1 just in case there's a card to buy later.
I much prefer this system to personal loot, NO pity system, etc.
I'm not a fan of the current system, mainly because I don't like the idea of rolling equal-odds against someone who joins the party for a single run, dies six times in a row and then immediately wins the mount.

Here is when you see the Dev's intend and player's style is not aligned.
99 totems is a horrible # ... true ... but only if you try to grind through it in a couple of week. 1 totem a day, 99 totems is a little over 3 months, you think it's a coincidence they don't let you buy the mount earlier than that? The reason why you don't see they let you buy the early mount is for this exact expectation. The dev expected ... or rather hope, the player will pace themself out and keep the content alive over a long period of time.
But the players of course don't give a crap about that expectation. It doesn't matter how many totems it needs, most people gonna want to get it "done" in a few weeks. Then we complain about the grind of no lifeing PF multiple runs a day, then we complain about the long wait until we can buy it. Whether if you just do 1 run a day (so it doesn't feel like a grind) and would still get enough totems before the mount available to buy anyway. But no human can be that reasonable, SE is kidding themselves if they think the players don't prefer to torture themselves.
