    Bring Korean/Chinese Dub/Subtitle

While Korean/Chinese translations are always content behind, I believe that it shouldn't be a problem.

The issues about Korean/Chinese language accessibility outside of delayed content in their region are:
    • The Korean/Chinese client site registration requires a highly complex system to play and register.
    • Trying to manually install the voice clips and translation into the NA client is extremely difficult, but also against TOS and can corrupt your FFXIV folder.

The files are there. They are just hoping that developers will consider and apply the languages to the client despite the contents being delayed in SK/CN region. They can technically ask the voice actors and translators to work on them in advance when NA/EU/JP releases their significant patches.

My wife is Korean and prefers listening to and reading the dialogues in Korean because of how complicated FFXIV's English language is. I am pretty sure there may be people out there who want to listen in Korean/Chinese and read the dialogues in a different language for learning purposes or interests.

Hoping people will like this thread and keep this up. I know many will disagree for some reasons, such as devs should focus on different contents, or telling my wife to play in the SK region or learn English, etc., etc... but at the end of the day, she wants to play with me and prefer to listen and read in Korean. That's just how it is.

SE doesn't publish those versions. The companies that run them do.

For that reason, I doubt it will happen.

    Yep like Val said

Unlike the international version of the game, the Chinese and Korean versions of Final Fantasy 14 are licensed to local companies who not only maintain the regional servers, but also carry out the task of localization, dubbing, and even commissioning unique in-game items

Its highly unlikely that korean dub/sub will come to the international version

There are apparently major differences in those versions of the game, which is the reason they're behind. This is likely to include lines of text which wouldn't even match up.

I think it's better to hope than not say it'll never happen because the localization team in SK/CN are not exactly Square Enix.

Maybe who knows, the devs may pay these localization teams to carry over. No one knows. I just don't like the idea on gating people from playing games because they prefer xyz language. But I do think that English version is just awfully difficult for those who has English as second or third language. Not everyone's going to sit next to google translate/webster's dictionary to search for every Shakespearean English there.

    Indeed

Its almost always a local publisher issue/responsibility for territories outside of the normal places a game is marketed and sold (US/EU/JP).

Besides vendors holding those assets, the game itself has been modified to run in those regions with quests being changed to meet the requirements.

Besides what has already been said here, the Korean and Chinese versions of the game lag behind the international version.

The Korean version only got Endwalker a month ago so even if Square-Enix bought the rights to the Korean dubbing from the company that owns it, it would not be ready for current content.
