Square Enix Does not care about Stalking/Harassment In Game

SE cares about harrasing streamers getting massreported ...by banning that streamer to be done with the blatant targeted reporting.

A couple years ago, there was a player on Hyperion that was harassing and stalking others on the server as well as shouting racial epithets, proclaiming that any members of a specific race getting near their place of business would be shot, and more A friend of mine (person of color) got messages calling him a slave coupled with violent rhetoric. This guy was reported by numerous people on Hyperion.

To the friend who was being targeted by him directly, the GMs told him to just blacklist him. The thing was that blacklist just removes speech. All this person did to the people he figured had blacklisted him was to /laugh and /laugh around them via emotes and to play high pitched piercing tones in bard performance. All reports about this player were met with the same rubbish--that the team took these reports seriously and suggestions of blacklisting. This player was put in GM jail at least once. They bragged about it in shout chat. It took at least 3-4 mos before this person had their account suspended.

Then he came back. Same player name but inverted this time, same character model. Same behaviors, same targeting. Laughing about how he'd just buy another account if terminated again. Did the GMs terminate that account once the reports started rolling in again? No. It took another few months of reports. SE's lack of response was disturbing.

I've seen players harassed & even doxxed in-game & the GMs do nothing. Today, I'm trying to digest all of what I've seen in terms of inaction with racism & violent rhetoric, stalking while knowing that my fc's leader, who has never been talked to by a GM, never stepped foot in GM jail just had her account completely terminated without warning for "third party tools".

The young man from Brazil left the game, completely disheartened, for a long time. The worst part about what I'm seeing going down is that some of us are suspecting that our fc leader was deliberately targeted by another player as a retaliation. Like that never happens, right?

That is terrible to hear.

Some tears ago I had a member in my FC whose IRL neighbor was stalking and harassing them in game. Thankfully they were able to make the neighbor stop that behavior, but still hearing such things going on in a game … shame.

well that was an experience to read, All I'll say is maybe instead of harassing someone in their home, go work on your social skills.

A friend once informed me that there may be an add on that allows you to completely remove players from your game. Not that I would endorse using a 3rd party add on to compensate for SE's inaction towards serious issues like harassment and stalking.

That being said the friends list and blacklist issues are really pathetic and it's even more pathetic that SE refuses to fix them after years and years of being told how bad they are.
