Darker nights?

Are they able to make a global server side effect a personal effect?

All visual stuff happens on client-side. In this case the server only dictates what time it is, so your game knows what shaders to en- or disable or what position your skybox should have. In theory everyone could play while sun/moon maintain static positions, practically SE has to make these changes though.

Darker nights, with quiet, somber music and maybe different enemies or some types of enemies missing would be great. Maybe with campfires. Aetherytes would glow. I would love that vibe

Personally have bad eyes and i'm already not enjoying the nights in 14 "I feel like everytime I log in its dark and for way to long.."
If its optional I would have no problem with it, but then I would like to turn night off completely as well while we're at it

It would be nice to see a real change in the times of day when night is real night with dark atmosphere. It could be awesome if somehow it affects your gameplay but it will require some changes in game mechanic. Back in the beginning of 2000 the developer of WoW also wanted to make realistic times of day when people actually needed torches for light since vision was very limited due to darkness at night – it is sad it did not make into release. But I believe most of people are satisfied with current situation and developers wont bother with it at all.
