PvP has some Job aspects that id like to see outside of PvP!

simply put, i love how Bard and Astrologian play in PvP and would love if how they played outside PvP better reflected that.

Bard (and Machinist but shh) bring back the casting from Heavensward, but with the ability to slowly move while doing it, thus letting you still enjoy the mobility of a ranged dps. meanwhile its buff is performed alongside an attack, rather than an attack being made available due to using the buff prior. a more fleshed out version of this to replace how the current buffing mechanic from Bard, with plain old song animations maybe being reserved for big special buffs with large cooldowns, would be a great way to rework the currently underplayed and generally unloved Bard job, making it a parallel of Dancer where Dancer is mostly a low dps but strong single-target buffer with most of its party buffs being defensive, meanwhile Bard would be a party-focused offensive buffer with less potent damage buffs but more offensive capabilities themselves alongside a large cooldown thats for support, or something along those lines at least!
tl;dr i want bowmage bard that buffs while attacking rather than buffs to attack outside of PvP!

meanwhile for Astrologian its simple: i want the old cards back, or at least something like them. the varied cards and how they worked in pvp reminded me of how much i loved and desperately miss the old system. theres a million billion great suggestions out there for reworks to the card system that mirror the old system but in better ways and id take most of them over what we have now. heck, even if it was something as simple as sun emblem is damage buff, moon emblem is direct hit buff, star emblem is crit buff id be happy.
the healing is fine as is though, no arguments there. very solid and reliable. kinda miss the instant cast gcd shields on ast though...

Sadly we can't ever get the kinds of performance out of PvP into our PvE. Parse-obsessed nerds pitch temper tantrums when their favorite class is more than 2.33282% off from the highest class and because raid design is so static and uninspired (oh look, it's a dude in a box!), there's no need or opportunity to use skills for kiting or for classes that might excel at dealing with adds to flex.

I don't think I'd be nearly as into PvP if PvE wasn't so goddamned *boring.* Ultimates feel like the only place SE still allows themselves to try being creative (and even then it's *still* just "dude in a box" content), much less challenge healers and tanks with meaningful damage. And ain't no one got time to raid as a second full-time job.

According to their reasoning for their decision to remove Kaiten from Samurai, it seems that, actually, those nerds are Squeen themselves.

Personally, I wish they would throw out all existing jobs' action trees and replace them using the more flavorful PVP action kit as a template, and balance from there. It would be a bumpy road, and it would take them a few months to get everything into a stable place (as long as they focus on the state of job balance), but it would be one hell of a ride.

One they ain't got the huevos to take, unfortunately. Admittedly it would be a lot of work that isn't "necessary," so I guess I can kind of understand? I think they just don't like having to deal with angry players, though. Apparently Gordias and Midas scared them pretty bad (is anyone surprised SB raids were just trials by another name, and the pattern stuck, after the reaction to Gordias?) or something. It makes even more sense when you consider how they've handled MSQ narrative in light of the temper tantrum the JP playerbase threw over Papalymo.

I don't think it's a *wrong* instinct to have, but I do think it's lead them to be more cautious and "safe" than they have any real need to be.

Jobs in PvP actually feel distinct and like they each have a niche that they can uniquely fill. They're going the exact opposite way PvE jobs are headed where every role is pretty much the same outside of minute DPS cycle differences. I wish they would take lessons from just how good and unique different PvP jobs are.

People in this game aren't used to jobs having unique things to bring to the table anymore and the devs want every caster/ranged/melee/tank/healer to be interchangeable within the same role. So yeah we'll never stray too far from jobs designed from the ground up around strict 1 / 1.30 / 2 min CD rotation and no utility. I love raiding but I totally get what u mean by that dude in a box thing lol

Astrologian is receiving major adjustments aka rework in patch 6.2. So we may see a rework of the card system. Keep those fingers crossed.

I think raiding is good for what it is, it's just so incredibly limited and we know they're capable of more. But I guess the players have decided that they'd rather have their safe, rigidly scripted and sanded-down fights in a box over anything that might try something different or risky.

I guess "losing" one of your four fights every 8 months to an experiment would be frustrating, though.
