No, going by what we can see in Materia, new NA/EU worlds will be sparsely populated and it will be insanely hard to get duty finders to pop.

Not to mention that the market board economy will be super inflated as well due to low supply. Besides, I'm already in an established FC and it doesn't make sense to leave everyone I know behind when there will be new plots freed up due to other players moving to the new NA/EU worlds.

Only if they can guarantee a large or medium private housing plot to those that transfer over without having to enter a lottery.

Well that is not going to happen, if everyone wants a medium/large private plot on the new servers, how do you propose that happens unless they make it such that plots are upgradeable so no matter what plot you get initially, you can upgrade it eventually regardless of its location?

Housing is the main motivation to change servers so keeping the lottery going would be a stupid move. Hopefully there is information about housing restrictions in new servers ahead of time.

Starting to feel more established on my current server so I might just move an alt there. I still really want the new server/DC experience but I don't really want to risk putting my main character on there in case things end up being desolate.

Square Enix have published the names of the new home worlds for Light and Chaos now: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...356cad741e8dec

Alpha and Raiden for Light DC, Sagittarius and Phantom for Chaos DC with all of them opening on July 5th. Housing won't be available instantly but shouldn't take months to becomes available either judging by how the blog post is worded. That gives enough time to make an FC and prepare for buying personal/FC houses.

Transfers are free to all new home worlds so expect competition for the private plots from anybody moving solely to get a personal house.

Assuming I am still actively playing by the time they add the new NA worlds I might transfer an alt, or maybe my main depending on how dead my FC is. The allure of having a good opportunity to get a house is pretty high for me and it might give me a bigger reason to keep playing the game. DC travel will make it easier to still keep up with my friends on Aether so there is that aspect of it as well.

Nah not a chance. I know too many people on my world to even consider moving. I'm not willing to move away from all my in-game friends just so I can have an empty house for myself. Not worth it.

Might make an alt for funsies to experience the new world smell, but I'm too dedicated to friends and I've made on Exodus to just peace out.
