Retainer "Transaction" option.

A few patches ago, I forget which one, the option to sell items from your retainer was changed from "Sell Item" to "Transaction".

I don't understand why this was changed in the first place, it made more sense before. The word transaction implies that you could either buy or sell, or even trade from clicking that option, but you can only sell an item using the "Transaction" option. So it's kind of misleading.

First time I noticed it, I thought I was in the wrong menu and spent some time trying to figure out how to actually tell my retainer I want to sell it. "Sell" was much more intuitive, as far as I know there is no other action you can perform via that menu point except for selling it via bazaar or retainer.

Didn't you use to be able to set things up in a bazaar asking to buy a certain amount of something? But it was kinda broken because you needed to already have the item in the first place to do so?

These are the menu options we have in the game:

The option in question is the first option: "Transaction". This option can only be used to sell an item. So I don't know why the word "Transaction" is used there. It should simply be "Sell" or "Sell Item".

The other options include, "Seek Item" which allows you to buy an item from another player through either your retainer's bazaar or your own. "Seek Repairs" which allows you to put an item in your bazaar or your retainer's bazaar to be repaired by another player.

I actually take more issue with the menu item "Materia". I believe it should read "Turn into Materia". Other wise, my instinctive reaction is as follows:

"Turn into materia" is too long, I believe "Convert" would be a better option.

I always looked at the word "Materia" in that menu as a verb. As in "I am going to Materia this item" meaning the act of turning it into a materia. Maybe that's just me though.

We've gone back and made the changes, and they'll go live with patch 1.22c.

The new menu text will read "Sell Item" and "Create Materia."
