Different layouts as well as the environmental effects. Blackfeather Boost is *massive*, it's 25% more limit gauge. Making effective use of it is key to winning Cloud Nine, which also means denying them to the enemy. Meteodrive and Primal Scream gain more effectiveness on both environmental maps because of their ability to break Guard. Sometimes it's better to hold them for an upcoming environmental effect than to use them right away. Volcano map has bombs leave behind stacking 10% damage up buffs, maintaining and collecting these buffs is key to winning. Cloud Nine has a very open mid that makes it difficult to approach for certain teams, volcano has a mid with lots of pillars that makes it difficult for some ranged classes to maximize DPS.
They're good maps, and there's a lot more to them than just "lmao use guard here."
It's a weird choice for sure, I guess they tried to give an option to perma opt out of certain maps.

I like the fixed rotation so I know which job I want to queue with. Maybe the map change timer could go from 1h30m to 1hr though.
All I want them to do is fix some issues:
-Remove the stair ramps from Volcanic Heart. They often snag your character because there's a small gap between their collision box and the pillars'.
-Make the Black Feather radius bigger on Cloud Nine. Right now, if you're not well centered in the chocobo AOE, you might miss it.

And yet the majority of my win streaks come from the volcano map.
Disliking a map doesn't equate to being bad. Volcano map is actually easy to win on due to how constrained it is with all its forced choke points. Doesn't change the fact that the bomberman crap is annoying and the collision positions for the camera is an absolute nightmare.
You can be centered perfectly and still go through it without picking it due to server ticksI have seen 3 people contest it and none of them get it sometimes with how badly the servers can affect it
A consistent way to steal the feather would also be pretty cool. Right now, it seems to be just simply whoever was in the circle first (and on the feather) wins... and sometimes with how slow the servers are at processing movement updates (which is why you have to stutter step on top of potions to pick them up instead of just running right through them), who wins might not be who "actually" entered the circle first.I like the fixed rotation so I know which job I want to queue with. You can't randomize pvp maps. That technology is beyond the knowledge of mankind.
