I would honestly love to just go ALL-OUT on some of the Holiday events

Like, imagine if if for All Saints' Wake, we got an actual little "Halloweentown" type of zone, with all sorts of cool cosmetics to unlock? For the Starlight Celebration, we get a "North Pole/Santa's Workshop" type of village, where we're tasked with delivering presents all across the globe, maybe even touching base with some old, familiar faces?

I can only speak for myself, of course. But honestly? I find holidays to be WAY more exciting than just "regular story content".

Especially if we also got stuff like extra Housing styles, more music, maybe even themed weapons!

I agree 100%! That would be so much fun. I don't find most current events to be worth it not to just skip for the items. Some more mini-game type things would be really fun, I think! I've known some MMOs in the past to have instanced events for them. Ideas would maybe be snowball fights or a spooky maze.

Sadly though, there's probably quite few people what just want to get the free seasonal event items ASAP and maybe would not agree. I really think it'd help bring back players each season though!

They have added little dungeons with minigames in the past, but it's few and far between and they don't stick around. Last Halloween event (which wasn't during Halloween) had you go into Tam-Tara and do various mini-games against a clown and his family. Another year it was exploring Haukke Manor. There has also been a Valentine's dungeon where you and another person had to solve puzzles together.

I once played a game called Ragnarok Online. One year they added a Christmas village and dungeon, and the village eventually became a main part of the game.

Agreed. However, that takes work and the devs have been really lazy with seasonals recently.

I disagree with the idea that they're lazy. Plenty of work goes into presenting a story each time.

I'm a big fan of how low impact they actually are. I've played other games with holiday events and when they hit, there's no progressing anything else. Everyone is busy farming items from the special zone. Imagine the moogle tome event but you can only get them from one place.

And yet they will go as far as completely canceling or postponing holidays, rather than recycling the content.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing square enix.. some of us just want the holiday vibe

what holiday though? not all countries have the same holidays, or celebrate them. if you do one, you would have to do them all, and while it would be nice, I cannot see that happening.

Nah, I don't think so. I think you can absolutely just celebrate some of "the big ones", and of course being a game made in Japan, it makes sense there are holidays there that we might not necessarily celebrate in the West, but it's still fun in-game stuff.

I'd never even heard of the Valentine's stuff, but that honestly sounds like a blast, too! But I figure, Halloween and Christmas are ones that I think most people are down with. The latter isn't even strictly religious anymore, and is more of a "holiday of family & togetherness".
