At this point its just laziness and entitlement from people who dont want to settle into new servers. The game is setup up that with every server there are also the same kind of
accompying housing server with a certain amount of supply. And as long as crossworld Linkshells and Groups and Cross DC travelling in a few weeks exist its no excuse for the
social access (friends, partner whatever) if people started on old settled servers instead of newer ones.

It still baffles me that people who newly started the game didnt invest 5 Min to check how the servers are working and are populated. I mean we have one of the transparent Devs
sitting at FF14 and people arent able to read a few posts via the Lodestone. Heck you can even create a Fake FC on the new Server and bidding on plots and then move the old FC
over to the new server. There are so many options which FF is offering in regards of this its mindblowing that people doesnt want to use/play it. Instead its torches and pitchforks.

Guess that are the same dumbheads who are bidding on FC Plots instead of a Private ones or vica verse even if they are getting 2 ingame notes "if they are really sure about the bid".

One of the draws of the game is to be playing with your friends.

Another draw is being able to purchase a house for personal use.

There is zero good reason that SE is forcing players to have to choose between the two when most other MMOs with housing do not have this problem.

They want players to take responsibility for their choices so there's no trolling of the system. It's an unfortunate mistake but the placard would have clearly read "Available to free companies. Unavailable to private buyers" before you clicked on it to enter, and would have had a confirmation window that you were entering on behalf of your Free Company before you confirmed your entry.

You'll be able to claim your partial refund tomorrow after the new lottery entry period starts so you can enter for a personal then.

You may want to suggest to your FC Master that Land Acquisition rights be removed from all ranks so no would be able to accidentally (or with malicious intent) relocate the FC house. It's unlikely the FC is going to want to move for a while since it managed to get a large.

Not to be that person, but one thing to consider. The new servers coming online this summer will be doing so in already established areas. A north american player moving to a new NA server is only a DC visit away from any friends on any other NA server who didnt make the move - a very different situation then those who moved to the oceania DC only to be isolated. I preemptively agree that whatever process of logging out and sending your character back and forth will be annoying to some. But the option will be there for the people who decide to take it.

There are drawbacks to not being on the same server. Can't join a FC, can't access your retainers, can't moogle mail people even if they are on your friends list or even receive mail. Communication though and the ability to play with friends is certainly there. Going to be interesting to see how that goes with Data Center travel. I hope we get some more info soon on the restrictions given the time is getting close for it's implementation.
