Ok so i did an oppssy and bid on an FC only plot when i wanted a personal plot, so i contacted support and waited for a reply. i checked the plot after the auction was done to see if it would give me the option to get the gil back but the only options i get are to finalize, then choose to relocate (from a large plot to a small plot which i may be dumb but im not that dumb, aint going to happen) or Free company. So when i click The other option Free company i got " Confirm the purchase of this free company plot? *The amount of your deposit will be applied in full to your purchase, and you will receive no refund." So i looked at it and had to stop cuz we already had a house and i wanted my gil back. i emded up dredging through the patch notes to find out i can get a cancellation with a 50% fee but didnt uderstand how. So i waited for a response to my support message, i get an email from the support staff 72 hours after i sent my message (i get it they are busy no biggy) and this is part of what i got "If you have won, then you can choose not to buy the house but lose 50% of the gil." along with some other stuff that looks copied and pasted from some notes. So ok i have to wait for my reservation on the plot to end to get my gil back. Couldn't there be an option like "*oppsy i messed up take half my money and let me go bid on a plot i can actually use". Instead of making me wait around 7 days plus the days before the lotto was done, and missing out on the current lottery, and allowing the fcs who dont want the plots to get one? I mean really you have like 30 empty plots in 1 fc subdivision, the demand for fc housing is staggering. I understand they are trying to do what they can, but this just feels out right silly to me. I made a mistake and now not only lose 1.65mil gil, but i lose out on opportunity to try to win a plot i can actually use on this current lottery (Housing is one of the few things i actually wanted to do since 'ive maxed out all of my classes and have -200% interest in raiding, the horrid pvp, or making an alt). So i guess ill wait another what 4 days to get my gil back hopefully. This experience has totally soured the thought of housing in this game for me, thanks for that.

You literally can't miss on another lottery in this situation. It won't start until claiming period is over and once it is over you will be able to pick up your gil. This is simply a non-issue.

System is not held back, the lottery periods is et to give every one a chance, also a chance to pick up at lottos end... it is the best and most fair system they ever could come up with, and it does not end resulting in camping a placecard for 2 days clicking or botting or whatever.

Except there are now fewer personal homes than ever and we can presume it will be months before an opportunity to bid on a home pops up again since it is unclear if they will allow bidders to bid for a home should one open or if we have to wait for a next "round."

Fair? Yes. But also tragically unfair. By making this lottery system they have murdered hope for the unlucky who can now only wonder if they will ever get a home when the odds are so stacked against them.

Which is why the lack of resources is why this new system is held back. They need to add more houses if they want this to be truly fair to their paying customers.

You can't toss a handful of hotdogs into a crowd of starving people and call it fair when they are all paying for a buffet.
