Eh. There's a big difference between defending and explaining. There really is only so much that can be done.
But oh, how you love to complain. Life isn't complete without complaints and no thought of feasible solutions. To be in a constant state of butthurt...
Sure buddy, I'd love to see what "feasible" solutions you came up with in this thread. Unless I missed something, I mostly just saw "there's nothing wrong with the way they're doing things."
Which, all the power to you if you think that way. But to dismiss it as simple complaints is just straight insufferable.
The complaints are what's insufferable. You can't even point to a game that has achieved the level of perfection you're seeking out. You're asking the impossible and making claims about a company when you really have no clue what's really going on there. Show me where this precedent has been set and I'll accept this as more than just idle complaints. This is not any kind of defense, just straight facts and you can't accept them.Sure buddy, I'd love to see what "feasible" solutions you came up with in this thread. Who is asking for perfection? I am asking for SE to step up their standards a bit, that's all. Also "what impossible claims"? Saying that they've dropped the ball when they definitely have isn't really an impossible claim, it's the truth. The complaints are what's insufferable. I'd like to invite you to read over Midareyukki's wonderful thread about the multiple times SE has straight up lied about the ear fiasco and claims about how hard their model is to work.
or this entire thread right here about Lyse's attire, where it was originally separated and they made it into an undyable onesie. So strange that the detractors of this btw, who defended it being a onesie suddenly didn't have much to say after it was proven that it was separated into pieces!
or maybe Yoshi's quite callous response to healers wanting their rotation to be something more than 2-1-1-1-1 and wanting to feel like that actually contribute. You can go look in the healer subforum if you want unhappy players there too!
Of course, there's the whole SAM kaiten removal, the housing bug, ect. I could go on and on. Back on topic of this thread, yes, reskins are normal. However, just think for a moment about what Endwalker was supposed to be - a big finale, a big, happy finish for a 10 year old story. We get..
- to fight Fandaniel like 3 times
- half of the armor sets reskinned
- back to back undyable, onesie mogstation outfits
- a less than stellar EX3
-less variety overall
I think this is just more of a compounding issues more than anything. In any case, yeah reskins are normal. But you have a content drought and issue upon issue ever since the launch, the reskins and the lack of care seems to be more obvious than ever. Of course, there are no "hard facts", just like SE defenders who want to defend tooth and nail that SE is truly sparing no expense, they can't prove that either lol. Hey though, if you want to keep ignoring glaring problems that even new players can't ignore, more power to you.

I've already said that reskins aren't a new thing, I'm saying it's much more obvious now since the launch of EW has more or less than marred with problems.

I remember someone going over how many reskins each expansion has on Reddit, and Endwalker has more reskins then the other expansions. So while reskins aren't new, they're more common then they have been. Which is odd when the game is making bank, no?

even though i agree wholeheartedly (i miss sb gear in a lot of ways) im going to play devils avocado and say this is due to the visual overhaul in 7.0. combined with square not assigning enough modelers to the xiv team.
not only are we getting more reskins, but a lot of roles share the same model. instead of getting 7 outfits per tomeset we get like 3 and a spare shoulderpad.

Question: Where does one even begin to come up with sets of gear for places like the moon or Ultima Thule, where there's no culture or style to begin with?
My question about that list. Does it increase with each expansion? Because that would be an expected trend then since the item database grows with each expansion.
