I wouldn't even bother lol, they have consistently defended SE's ridiculous actions, no matter how inefficient/lazy/terrible/ect it is because they like it, so obviously everything's fine and nothing's wrong. Or the good old "you try developing it yourself then!".
That would be a nice thing, and yeah they should be able to swap the ones outside of the designed role. I was also hoping for them to have swapped around the designs on the reused alliance set. I love that aiming top and I'd love to be able to use it on other roles too.On the one hand, yes that's likely and I've had the same thought. They probably thought it was a nice idea to bring back all of the player-designed items for the finale, but didn't want to change the "specifically designed for X role" intent.
On the other... surely they could have swapped around the other dev-designed classes, even if they leave the one player-designed role untouched?
I'm also still sad about the lack of gear in the Aitiascope, even though we didn't functionally need it from there.
Just be glad it isn't crabs. All games do it. SE does it very well. There are so many enemies that have been reskinned over the years that it never occurred to me were reskins but after years I started thinking about them and noticed they were reskins or smaller versions of bosses I'd fought.
For some examples we can take the hunt Udumbara, which until I did Void Ark again after a long time didn't even occur to me it was a reskin, or Bird of Paradise and Bi-Fangs which didn't occur to me were reskins of Phoenix considering how most people just do that one time unsynced. It didn't occur to me where The Pale Rider came from until I got a certain ARR dungeon. They are all very good reskins and there are a lot of other examples.FFXI loved its crabs.
Gaius van Baelsar: Nor is this unknown to your masters. Which prompts the question: what came first, the chicken or the egg?
People want a lot of things, but if the budget is really as limited as it is (for one, it should be expanded), then maybe they should manage it a bit better. The limited races, I am convinced, have become a great hindrance to the game. Like, sorry to hrothgar players, and I like viera myself, but they weren't done right and the overall quality is suffering as a result. No, limited races aren't the singular cause, of course not, but if they didn't have to fit everything to hrothgar and viera, maybe they could have focused on giving us more things across the board. Including more hairs and customization for everyone.

Eh. There's a big difference between defending and explaining. There really is only so much that can be done.
But oh, how you love to complain. Life isn't complete without complaints and no thought of feasible solutions. To be in a constant state of butthurt...
Assets being repurposed or recolored is a staple of any game development, heck Final Fantasy since the first one re-used assets and just recolored them. There was always like 6 of a monster type that just had a hue change, so this doesn't exactly bother me. Also most mobs aren't alive enough for me to care how they look mainly. But armour makes sense that they shouldn't of cut corners as much as they did.
Sure buddy, I'd love to see what "feasible" solutions you came up with in this thread. Unless I missed something, I mostly just saw "there's nothing wrong with the way they're doing things."
Which, all the power to you if you think that way. But to dismiss it as simple complaints is just straight insufferable.
Games have reskinned things since back in the 8 bit NES days.
Nowadays though it's almost a necessity due to the amount of work needed to create something from scratch with the amount of detail seen in games now. Even with reusing assets from previous game titles we still see development times of 4-5 years for a AAA game title to be made.
