We also have Allagan constructs (the owlbeasts or whatever they're called) being reused as a blasphemy model. Wtf.

Funnily enough, the thing you're complaining about being copied is itself a copy of a mob from FFXII pasted into ARR.

My god. You are making more money than ever. When is the last time you actually made a new model? It's one thing to just reuse an old skeleton, its' another to copypaste existing mobs and not even recolor them when it breaks immersion. Like having a creature from our world just happen to exist in a far off alien world. There is no excuse for this. Make new models please and stop, you can afford to at this point.

If anything I welcome it because RPGs for decades have had recolored mobs and it's part of that "charm".

You also can't really complain about immersion when seemless zones were removed after 1.0 and people are running around wearing 2B outfits and a palico minion and then jump on their Yokai Watch mount. Immersion was thrown out the window when the ARR team decided that instead of being it's own thing by itself, this game was going to be a "Final Fantasy theme park". The writers are telling their own story, but in the spaces in between are filling it with pure Final Fantasy fan service and Square Enix product tie-ins. I don't see how clambering around a crashed android space station from NieR is fine, but a recolored mob is worthy of a forum post.

Being fair, a lot of people complain about that, too. It's just died down now because it's over.
