This thread is meant to be dedicated to attraction ideas for the upcoming Gold Saucer (some time after launch of 2.0), and I will start of the discussion with a few thoughts:
I would like to see content like... actual gameplay tutorials cleverly disguised as entertaining games. With varying tiers of difficulty to allow personal growth.
Say, a stand that will test a player's reflexes, that actually improves their ability to practice combos. (ff7 gold saucer had a submarine and snowboarding challenge, based on minigames at other parts of ff7)
Or a series of puzzles which alone are a not too dangerous personal challenge to overtake, but are cleverly used in a more practical manner in an up and coming dungeon. (think solving how to earn Darkhold/Cutter's cry 5 chests by practicing toto-rak)
Or test a person solo against a series of enemies in a sort of "boss rush mode", where players can compete for top scores, and possibly even cash in for unique gear. (much like the arena in FF7)
Attractions for atmosphere. Many quirky things were at the other Gold Saucer. It was great.
Or simply mindless time wasters. (FF7 had a moogle mini-rpg, a claw prize machine and even its own version of Rock-em-Sock-Em)
Maybe... a mobile feature can be earned from the casino to allow playing cards (or parley) abroad...some sort of hand-held gambling feature could be added, so during downtime (ex:dungeon cooldown) a player could /sit and pull up a very simple blackjack or poker or parley interface, and compete (for virtual casino tokens) with people in the immediate party. Devs could even have a fun poker circle animation people can observe from outside the party, with someone cheering when they win a hand, etc etc.
Interested in more ideas.
