Auction House Idea...BLOW YOUR MIND

Okay maybe not blow your mind...

But remember the AH in FF3/6...when items are present for live bidding. Why don't we have a live bidding house?

I mean live bidding not the mere act of putting it up on a list and post hours for it to be up for sale.

So it should go like this:

All items should be given a rating and the public auction houses broken up by the rating so peeps know which live house to enter and bid.

If you want to put an item up for auction you go to the auction line and wait your turn to approach the NPC and present an item in the auction house. You can see the number of people in the house by the seats filled. (Or make it Special NPC items only)

When a buyer enters the auction house they sit down in a seat. At any time during an auction of an item if they emote raise hand they have made a bid for said item. NPCs may also end up buying and bidding on items. Items may also have a reserve which especially for rare items means the sale will not happen so easily. This could also be a way to introduce rare items into the world that can't be obtained normally by any other means.

I'm a great fan of VI, but no. Not for an MMO. I like the idea, and it sounds good, but I can't see it actually taking off or being something worthwhile of development time/resources.

WoW/Diablo III style AH would suit me just fine, I don't want none of that blind bidding s*** like in in FFXI though.

/nod .. this is just a standard in every game.. even in f2p from years ago.. So why can't we have it?

Blind bidding is really the best way to do things. Otherwise you have items being undercut by large amounts like we have present in XIV, which was rarely the case in XI. When you know the amount other people are selling for, you know the amount to put yours up for...Which will almost always be less than theirs. No ones going to buy the more expensive item, so we have everyone bring down the price of items, and youll see say a 50k item bouncing back and forth between 15 and 50k.

If you make it blind, people have no idea if the item was undercut by 5k or not. Most people arent going to just keeping lesser amounts until they finally buy it. Therefore, prices stay pretty stable for most items, and undercutting isnt as large of an issue.

Although I love Diablo's, its current "filters" suck dick, trying to find an item good for you when there is 50 pages of them is so tiring. Low ranked items not to bad, it works fine, but when you only have 3 specific filters and they dont support "sets" it becomes annoying at higher rank gear.

I hope they keep the current "see price + history", XI's blind price was OK for some sense, but also very annoying.

I also dont like bidding up to a "time", most people use "buyout" on diablo 3, the bidding is useless lol who wants to wait 3 days to see if they will or wont get their item

No!!!! I started this thread with not having that Auction House. Do not need or want an AH of that sort.

AH as it is now but with seperate listings for +1 and materia'd versions of items is all we need. Only all cities linked properly obviously.
