I think it used to say something like: "We see the strong desire for the maps to be redesigned but it will take a lot of work so be patient" but he was talking about character collision with terrain(map), not redesigning the zone.

edit: here is the post, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

double edit: He does say "Radical refurbishment" so idk what to think.
See, I was under the impression that he was just referring to collisions as well. Although to fix those, I suppose there would be some changes made to the terrain, but not the radical redesign that some people are speculating will come. But I could be wrong! And I kind of hope I am, haha. Just don't expect a complete redesign, and don't expect it for a looong while.

I agree that the repetitiveness is quite annoying. It's not that it looks bad or anything, it's just that every time I pass through the same underpass, bridge, cave, etc. I encountered just a few minutes earlier, it breaks the immersion for me entirely. There are no surprises, no feelings of accomplishment when I discover a new area because I'm just like, "Oh...this looks just like that place from a few minutes ago. What a waste of time..." If they do make changes, they won't be any time soon, and I just don't see a complete redesign of The Black Shroud at all. It's too late for that.
