Housing sucks rn!

I'm fairly new to the game (Started in 2021), but I've noticed that housing always was one of the most discussed topics ever since it got introduced. Be it players being excluded or the current system at any given time, they never seemed to get it right and if they made changes, it was years after.

Do you think, they care enough to fix it soon again?

Because I already gave up hope ever owning a house. I can only imagine how it must feel if you're a long time player.
Especially in an otherwise exceptionally well made game like FF14, this would bother me to no end.

Then again, there's wards that are entirely bought by one person. They really need to take care of this

I mean, you are not even on Spriggan, so even if SE decided to remove something someone got while it was in the rules, it wouldn't make any difference to you at all.

Worry about Odin, instead.

And instead of seeking to punish other people for what they did inside the rules at the time, push SE to improve housing instead.

SE needs to develop a pair of round things to be able to confront these kinds of people and say to them "I don't CARE if you bought them before we put in the 1 house per server rule or if you own 60 accounts to get around the rules, you get to keep 1 house ONLY!" I seem to recall before they put in the 1 house per server rule they announced that those who already had multiple houses would get informed ingame that they needed to pick which house they would keep and the rest would be demolished. They should've held their ground and went ahead with that plan.

Whilst the few who selfishly own entire wards for themselves or are using them to flip at higher value to desperate FC's are a problem it's not going to fix the problem altogether that there are just far too few estates for all players to have their own personal houses. As I and several others have stated several times houses should NEVER have become personal and that sad excuse of an apartment for personal housing is too weak. Yeah let's stick a chocobo stable outside but give players no means to grow the onions outside of buying seeds at extortionate value off the MB by players who have houses and gardens to produce them.

Sorry to quote again, but this is part of the problem I have. Why are some people allowed to still do this when housing availability is such an issue? Why is someone breaking TOS at this point allowed to continue as such.

See, I actually kind of disagree with this. We are seeing such inflated numbers because we don't HAVE to click placards anymore.

The way I see it, Housing was already bad. Lotto just made it more avaliable for people who can't click (which is a good thing! fuck that system) but bad because they literally cannot support the amount players who want and can have a house right now.

I will say though, just towards the end is when placard clicking picked up again. I mean like MONTHS before endwalker, but before than unless it was a really high stakes plot, there were only a few people at any given time in both my experience on Primal and Aether.

Is it against ToS though? I’m legit asking. I can’t find anything in the rules that says you can’t make as many service accounts as you want. Obviously this is how people are getting around the 1 FC house 1 private house per server rule.

So, I think part of the solution is to add something to the ToS about this kind of problem, and/or roll back the grandfathered people who had multiple plots and houses on the same account. Then they can take action. Otherwise if people are technically adhering to the rules and are just jerks, what can be done?
