You don't care right? This will absolutely be my last lotto in any way shape or form until something is fixed. I'm tired of going to every plot, seeing 30+ people on ANY GIVEN plot, and knowing my chances will be slim to none. I understand with the demand there is that there will be a lot of people wanting to get in, but it leads me to the question of WHY?
Why is this artificial demand even HERE? To everyone who will say "Oh but you have apartments!" Yeah, thanks, I sure do want the dumbed down, baby version of the system that I cannot use outdoor furniture in, nor more than like what, 20 pieces of furniture? Apartment sizes and restrictions are a joke, and they are certainly not a fix to this housing problem right now.
It feels like, to me, the lottery is just worse off. Sure, I really appreciate not having to sit and click a plaque for hours, but this isn't much better if you ask me!
I really hope sooner rather than later they fix the split between FC and Personals. It feels really bad to go into FC wards, see them empty or see everyone who was grandfathered into the system. I'm not particularly upset abt the grandfathering, in most cases, but it still is frustrating to see. This is a draw for a LOT of people to this game at end game!
Also, I don't really want to hear "Well housing started as FC only!" I don't care what it started as. I care about the needs and wants of people within the game IN CURRENT YEAR.
TLDR: Lost my housing for the third time and this is my last lotto until they fix the system. It is NOT working.
I don't really care how you think either on a system that is promoted by lottery worshippers.
System is already in the game and it will stay.
My money bid is you will still enter lottery if SE announce another plot release few months later.
This was my last lotto bc there are no more private plots on my server if all the plots are claimed from this time
Many of the plots came from what is now the designated FC wards
Demolition needs to come back
lotto needs to be shorter
Apartments & FC rooms need to be equal to a small/ cottage house
Instanced housing needs to be created
Don't give up. On Sarg for the next lottery in 4 days you have (so far)
Mist, Ward 22, Plot 23
Mist, Ward 23, Plot 41
The Lavender Beds, Ward 23, Plot 54
The Lavender Beds, Ward 24, Plot 38
The Goblet, Ward 24, Plot 8 (a medium)
I suggest not going for the medium, but waiting until the last day before the end of the next period, and aiming for one of those four smalls. There could well be more than this over the coming days too.
(I'd actually suggest you aim for the worst of the smalls - same as FCFS days. Get your small house first, no matter how bad, then aim to improve it's position later. It costs more, but the stress is less, and you have haus until then.)
Tbf, your slim chance is equal to their slim chance. You still have that chance to get the house. Keep trying, you be surprised that your effort will eventually pay off. Someone has to win, and it's the same for every participant.
Sure does suck housing. Last one again to enter the lottery won the plot. Doesn't even help if your the first to enter the lottery for a plot someone also beats you. They need to fix it so don't have to put down the full amount to enter it so can enter multiple lotteries at once.

OP is smart. The only way to win is to not play. People act like oh, if people enter theyll know how many of us want a house and theyll fix it. To that, I say they already have the information so it's fruitless. If something was gonna change it woulda happened by now. Instead theyll drip feed houses every like, couple expansions and eventually playerbase will probably drop to the point where you'll be able to get one. I seriously think there's more chance of people quitting the game en-masse, thus freeing up house spaces than there is SE actually fixing this problem permanently while the game actually has a somewhat healthy population, and not just fake band-aid patches.
To be fair, you don't really lose anything by playing. So you might as well just dump your lot in and then forget about it. Maybe you'll get lucky and win. Probably won't though. Long as you're not being That Guy who literally slept next to the placard and then lost and got banned on twitter for popping off, you're fine.OP is smart. The only way to win is to not play. I agree with the rest though. They'll probably do something later, even if it's just adding more wards once everyone quits during the scheduled slower period that follows an expac. Would've been nice if they could've been proactive this time, though, by just opening more private wards like people begged them to do from the start. But it's over, so no point looking to the past.
It's moot anyway, since the individual plots are all gone at this point. There were like... 12? in the last bidding session. Now there won't be any, unless some FC house moved to Ishgard and had a grandfathered plot. At best we'll see thousands of people bidding on a couple of homes. At worst, we'll see nothing even available. I've said my piece on this so much that now all I can do is laugh at how poorly this has gone tbh

Do we even have proof that they're looking at those numbers?
Have you seen how many people are bidding on houses? I'm certain that most of those people have been trying since the lottery started. Now, look at how many houses are available. "Keep trying and your effort will eventually pay off" is platitude.
Actually, no one outside SE has seen that number.
The number of bids isn't the same as the number of bidders: my spouse and I each placed three bids (using three characters each) on the house she won in Kugane@Faerie in the most recent round of the housing lottery.
We then verified, as we suspected, that you can't make your own alt characters tenants of a house your main character owns. although you can make someone else's. Eh.
I have no proof. The only Japanese Final Fantasy team member I knew tangentially I haven't seen nor spoken with since 2005.
However, these are public data points that now make it publicly trackable as to the demand for housing, especially larger housing. There's a good chance there will be a few more pointed questions asked at the next live letter.
