Housing sucks rn!

...I can’t find anything in the rules that says you can’t make as many service accounts as you want....So, I think part of the solution is to add something to the ToS about this kind of problem...

We really need to stop suggesting to SE they take stuff away from people playing by the rules, and instead put that effort into asking for what we want.

Because SE do have this repeated habit of monkey paw-ing things we ask for. Resulting in more pain and anguish than the state before.

If we all focus on asking for better housing, and stop saying "make it more exclusive please and take those people's houses away from them" they will hear a unified voice.

So, I think part of the solution is to add something to the ToS about this kind of problem, and/or roll back the grandfathered people who had multiple plots and houses on the same account. Then they can take action. Otherwise if people are technically adhering to the rules and are just jerks, what can be done?

It's not against the TOS but it is against the intent of the rules in my opinion. I have lots of alts and I could do the more than one FC thing but my reason for making a FC is to share a house with my alts and a few select friends. Those buying up entire wards are doing so for the most part to generate gil in my opinion with sub/airship/gardening and to actually sell houses for a profit. SE tried a bit with the new rules but they aren't working obviously given people are still doing it.

They need to remove the incentive at lease by decoupling airships/subs from FC and put those in GC. That won't eliminate the problem given some buy these houses for selling them at a profit for real money but it might stop a lot of it.

no fix this now, clicking was better and higher chance. you had to work for the house, now people just bid , including new players, its so unfair. i just want a house! im so depressed and wish i had a FUing house so i can enjoy it and RP like people with houses get to!!!
I pay sub fee and shop items just like every other player, so how come they get to have a house!? and i dont? I do everything to try get one and lose every single time, thanks for caring about your player base. this wont be fixed for another 6 years. you guys take so long to try fix things its a joke.

A player needs both work (to get gil) and luck to get a house, and once they do, it's essentially just a trophy to put on the shelf and hang ribbons on. Not everyone gets that trophy, but what did the Rolling Stones say?

^ This. Paying a subscription fee is not entitlement. You are paying for access to an online game, and any additional 'add-ons' that may incur an additional fee to your subscription.

I really think you need to start reading and understanding exactly what a subscription is if you are going to try and use it to justify your sense of entitlement, because the User Agreement completely contradicts what you think you are entitled to here. You own nothing.

It is kinda funny to see the people flocking to this thread to essentially just belittle people who've been butting their head against not just one system for a year+ and defend it like this.

The game is the game, housing mini-game included, and that's what you signed up for.
It's fine to suggest changes, but bitching and whining about the rules of the game you chose to play, about the rules you agreed to play by, is behavior usually associated with spoiled children. I wouldn't expect any actual adults to take it seriously, much less for the developers to do so.

I have a goal to get a personal medium, to have a place all my spouse's alts can use, something that isn't possible with my spouse's current personal house. I'm fully aware of the poor odds that I'll succeed in the present market for housing, but I intend to try anyway: nothing to lose by trying. And I have plenty of time to try.

But I don't think I'm entitled to that house. I'm not upset that it will be difficult to get, if I ever even do.
The fact that achieving a goal in a game it isn't easy or guaranteed is for me part of what makes that goal worth the attempt.

Why do you keep clinging to that point? I literally said nothing about entitlement. I don't know why you are so hard on this kick of us all being entitled. If I felt so entitled I'd be doing more than posting in a forum, don't you think?

I know I'm not "entitled" to a house. I can still complain about a system that is in my opinion not working.

There will be another plot release that is what is next.
I highly doubt they will just do one release after 5.0 population surge.

Far from perfect, and they have limits, I know, but do you have an apartment so far? That is a salve to keep you going at least. You will get lucky, just gotta stay as positive as you can.
