I really love some of the gear on FFXIV I wish I could wear it even though I surpassed it. . Am I the only one who wants this XD? I noticed almost every MMO has this. And i think it would be a great way for players to always look unique.

I like vanity stuff but I think people should always show what they actually have equipped. Never made sense to me that someone wearing a straw hat for example, actually has some kind of plate helm equipped. If you want vanity stuff just equip it when you are in town? Since that is the only place you would be showing it off anyways.
It also makes sense that we don't ever have to eat and drink if we want and we can summon lightning from the skies to strike our target.I like vanity stuff but I think people should always show what they actually have equipped. Myself I don't see anything wrong with it, but I simply don't want it in the game because I wouldn't use it. I wouldn't use it because of increased inventory room, but if it was added and other people used it, it would not bother me one bit. It's kinda not fair to not want something in game because you simply wouldn't use it. Bleh
I'm assuming if they added vanity slots they would do like they have planned in the future for armor sets to not take up inv space.It also makes sense that we don't ever have to eat and drink if we want and we can summon lightning from the skies to strike our target.

Also in a fantasy world like this it DOES make sense to have lightning from the skies etc.... and not make sense for someone wearing plate helm to display a straw hat unless their is an illusionist like class or ability etc... which we don't have.
But if you want to use the fantasy route doesn't it make sense that anything can work better? I mean it is fantasy. I can put on a plate helm and still fish. Nothing is making me better at fishing in real life because I'm wearing a straw hat. Nothing is making me better at fishing if I'm wearing some brand new sneakers. And nothing is stopping me from unequipping a straw hat and putting on a plate helm and then going fishing in this game cause it can happen. Ya?I'm assuming if they added vanity slots they would do like they have planned in the future for armor sets to not take up inv space.

Oh, there's quite a movement in favor of such a feature. We kinda gathered here for a bit until the whining over the hotfix and the lack of a trailer started. =P
You mean just like all those other characters in previous Final Fantasy games that were equipped with minerva vests, red jackets and such but their character model never changed? This is more to emphasize character uniqueness. If someone out there designs his BLM to have wear a white fedora with a black suit jacket and pants, he's more than welcome to so long as his job was allowed to wear those at some point before he had to replace them due to the need for better stats.

* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
oh, look another one of these.... as if we don't already have another lengthy identical topic on the front page, which i believe the above poster linked?
In this fantasy world, you get to wear you know, what you are actually wearing. Vanity stuff will probably be introduced, I'm just trying to state it doesn't really make "sense" which seems to be going right over your head and also results in you trying to make comparisons to RL which has nothing to do with this. In this fantasy world, there is gear that makes you better at fishing etc.... Stop trying to compare this to RL. I'm talking about THIS WORLD which you seem to just not be grasping.But if you want to use the fantasy route doesn't it make sense that anything can work better? I mean it is fantasy. WTF are you trying to get at? This is FFXIV not previous FF games. El oh el? I don't know what game you are playing, but I'm talking about FFXIV.Oh, there's quite a movement in favor of such a feature. In the end if vanity stuff is added great! I will probably have a lot of fun with it. I'm just saying I like when people actually show what they are equipped with and it doesn't matter anyways since the only point of vanity is to really just run around in town showing yourself off, which you can already do anyways. I remember in rift how dumb it was but fun at the same time that I could go kill people in pvp with like peasant gear on.
No, you can't seem to grasp that this is a fantasy world where anything can happen. Cause only reality stuff should happen in a fantasy video game. Not fantasy stuff that happens in a fantasy video game. I know what world you're talking about. This is a video game where we fight tons of bad guys with weapons and never die and never have to eat and days go by within an hour and we never age. All of that stuff doesn't make sense, but by your book it does. So why should it be any different for something like vanity slots. Again, I'm not for it, but you don't want fantasy stuff to happen in a fantasy game unless it's by your book. Makes perfect sense.In this fantasy world, you get to wear you know, what you are actually wearing.
