If you want to keep equipment rewards on mid-level content and still make it worth doing an appearance tab/slots is a healthy way to either keep folks comming back or atleast having them want to visit. Make Dungeon rewards themed to the dungeon, make mission rewards themed to the mission State/company/guild house etc. And have appearance slots so there is a secondary reason to run besides just stats...

Don't get me wrong, Stats are sweet, good gear is too, but honestly few people are gonna gimp them selves so completely for looks, which means there will only be a few select "worth it" things to run Mid-level range before you've either outleveled it, or will soon enought that the stats won't be worth the run.

On the reverse give those same items themes, interesting or fun skins with an appearance tab, and you give a portion of the population a secondary reason to run/do whatever. To look slick and stylish.

Really hope that come 2.0 this game won't have the "rush to the cap" style of content that is does now. The journey to the cap should be memorable and full of content/milestones for every level range.

Having all the content concentrated at the max level while you grind through everything to simply "get it out of the way" instead of just enjoying the game as you go is not what makes a good MMO.

Leveling would be way too fast if this game actually had anything to do before 50, but it doesn't. Kinda just waiting for 2.0 since the current state of the game is irrelevant.

That's more of an argument for shifting dungeons and randomized monster placement (Circa Diablo series) than saying it's ok to force people to agonize over leveling.

As I said before, the level grind is no excuse for content. The 'gear grind' as you want to point out, should be enjoyable enough to repeat.

The biggest point of this is that slowing down the level progression accomplishes nothing. The game should be attractive by making its gameplay attractive - that means raids and dungeons, and yes, quest lines to break up the monotony of lower leves.

That does not mean cut the level pacing so the player feels obligated to do low level content if endgame is their goal. Low level game content should feel optional, enjoyable, and enticing - not mandatory.

It should be 'Man, before you get too high, check out this quest line, It's absolutely awesome!' over "Well, if you want to level up faster, you should do X dungeon runs, that's really the fastest way."

Lol what if this game didn't base itself around leveling and instead on a gear grind? Where gear is actually more important to character development. Think monster hunter where you physically saw your character grow stronger based on the gear they acquired. Just a different take on things that will quash this leveling is too fast stuffXD

Leveling is too fast. Nuff Said. 1-50 in three days (with NO pl). This is typical ADD WoW fare. As far as i was aware this was Final Fantasy, a game that made its name based on the exact opposite. Get rid of this new PL system, double xp curve (or half the gain) and as an extra bonus get rid of server laag :P

Long Live Final Fantasy ! :P

This is what PLers actually believe. May Altana have mercy on our souls...

Gear didn't matter in Monster Hunter, only the weapon did. If you could put Evade+2 on any gear in Monster Hunter you didn't need anything else besides your own skill at playing.

The combat is too different where here you are forced to take the hit no matter what you do, where as in monster hunter you can be roll through a Rathalos fireball or a diablos charge if you time the dodge just right.

I prefer a system where gear doesn't matter, and it's more based on your skills as a player.

PS: Why can't you guys level slower in a party, or maybe solo to 50? If leveling is so fast and you don't raise a craft and make you own mid-level gear to use?

Did you pull a 72-hour stint then? That's impossible for a casual person to do with 1-4 hours of gameplay per day.

    I smell a lie.

THAT is your opinion, when you run the office and run the show, maybe you tell them how SLOOOOOOW we should level our classes.

If 60% of mmo players usually say that lvling is to slow and ffxiv only has 14% saying that I think there is something wrong with that picture considering other mmo's are successful and ffxiv isnt.
If your not having fun then you must be tearing out your hair (or bald)by now with this MMORPG. If you still play, you must have found much more content to dabble in, or just on here for the sake of discussion(i can respect that).

I think the leveling is fine in low-level soloing mode(even in party).
IMO, with the length of time it takes a casual(not a hard-core) to complete the main content and cap all his/her classes is probably when SE plans to update its content. Calculating on how many kids/young adults and grown-ass men/women(who eventually don't have complicated lives) tend to [play] complete the content in record time before new content.

Granted, a big BUDGET MMORPG should have big budget content which should be balance with a "time-sink". At first the game came out, it took a good amount of time to get from 1~20. Don't you think they have it all planed out already by the time 2.0 launches?

POINT: (new players in mind)If leveling was any slower(taking more of our time to gain a "level-up") the majority of the community will complain or just quit. That means, more content for lower level players will be needed to capture their interest. People in Linkshells will still deal with it but slow down because of less time on their hands to grind.

By the time 2.0 is out, there needs to be low lv.content, mid lv. content and high lv.content.
