I'm just stating that the point has been proven that the people on these boards are still a vocal minority, rather than the majority. And I am musing at the fact that now they are out-voted, they're screaming even louder.

It mirrors the irrationality of fringe groups in politics, as well as the general lack of scope such groups share.

50 is mid-level. Yes, it's cap for the moment, but long term, the events that are happening now are either going to have higher level versions later on or become obsolete as new content, levels and the inevitable power creep comes to pass.

They want to lengthen the level process when we're pretty much going to be doubling the time it takes to get to cap by the time we reach 99 anyways.

This game is leveling without an upward curve, which I believe is very correct.

There are two ways to lengthen the process, and both are poor decisions.

One, to evenly distribute the time spent between levels, which has pretty much no point of it. What's the difference between spending an 4 hours getting accustomed to a new ability (Assuming 1 level ~ 1 hour of leves.) And spending 8, or even 16? There's no point in that, at all.

Or two, you instill an upward leveling curve like every MMO, which will exhaust people as they feel their progress being hampered down by the game's mechanics. The system becomes oppressive rather than progressive, and the time spent refining your skills for specific events is instead spent trying to get those last few measly experience points so you meet the minimum standard.

There are more ways for you to gain the feeling of 'being on a journey' then simply leveling up. Exploration, gear progression, storyline. All of these things should be improved before the concept of leveling pacing need to be considered.

Does it really matter? Games like WoW you can level almost TWICE the amount of levels in almost the same amount of time. It only takes up to 1 week anyway if you're being PL'd or know exactly what you're doing.

Besides the game has already been labeled as broken, and everything in terms of endgame content is going to be removed. How much would it suck if casual players (who didn't have the time to grind like the job-less nerds that overwhelm the MMO community) lost out on a LOT of cool stuff because the grind was just too much?!!

I am happy for the quick leveling. It's not like starting Ifrit for the first time is an easy accomplishment anyway.
