I voted that it was too fast, but if most of the community says it's just right then it's just right. I just wish the power leveling wasn't there. Because it makes something already fast extremely fast. The only other thing I'm curious about is when said that lower levels are slower than higher levels and blah blah blah is going to change. Only two, maybe three, things I think can happen there. One is improving exp gain at low levels (making things even more faster) or slowing down later level exp or a mixture of both. So I'm curious what the verdict will be

Powerleveling is the reason it's too fast. The pace itself is fine (low level is kinda slow, but supplemented with leves and quests) mid levels are decently fast, especially with toto-rak being there and high levels is just a few hours (or less) to max out, but powerleveling is the main issue.

Leveling is fast if you're only talking about getting one class to cap. Consider how long it takes to get all classes to cap, and then tell me if it's too fast or not. One of this game's major features is that you can mix and match abilities from other classes, and the developers expect you to do so. They balanced the level curve in order to accommodate the armory system.

When you have multiple classes to level, mid game content doesn't really matter. It was the same in FFXI no matter how you put it, when given the choice people take the path of least resistance. I may have enjoyed a slow methodical grind to cap on my first class but after I couldn't level fast enough.(Ok I'm joking I didn't even enjoy the first grind lol)

Levelling is only fast if you go PowerLevel through it. A new player, heck if you go start on a new server, you will NOT be able to power level. Now since everyone is power levelling, no one really parties pre 40 so people are stuck doing leves.

A new player cannot hit 50 as fast as you, they cant power level, and it will take them time to get their first 50 by just killing mobs and doing leves and what not.

A lot of people need to stop thinking about just themselves and how they experienced it because its nothing how your average casual will experience it and nothing like how a new player will experience it.

If I had 10 gil everytime you referrenced the "New Generation of MMO gamers", I'd be well on my way to a full quint-meld set.

Seriously though, Levelling is a bit too quick. It renders a lot of the low level/mid level gear useless, and makes it a chore to gear those classes up. Emphasize more on those levels.

Yep since it drives low market demand on lower level gear (besides for looks on some) and thus crafters won't make it and people who don't blow through the levels will indeed have a hard time. Though part of it also comes from the fact the way the itemization in this game is built is kind of odd, especially since the main contributor to anything is your level vs monster level, gear almost feels secondary to the grand scheme of things.

From what I remember recently a rep did say there were plans in 2.0 to focus on the low/mid levels as well.

Shame this is obviously the only MMO you've played.

    Leveling is way too fast.

You can get from 1 to 40 in less than 6hrs

without gear/weapon without food without skill, without anything, just stay sill and enjoy the ride ... just use "Yoshi-P PowerLevel Authorization"
