    Sage Job Actions: Phlegma/Phlegma II/Phlegma III

    Not sure if this is intentional or not but it seems sort of odd. Phlegma I has 400 potency and 30% less on all enemies not targeted meaning all untargeted enemies in range receive damage for 280 potency. However, Phlegma II has 490 potency and 50% less on all enemies not targeted meaning they receive damage equivalent to 245 potency. Finally, Phlegma III has 510 potency and 50% less on all nontargeted enemies for a 255 potency on all nontargeted enemies. Is it meant to be weaker to all targets at higher levels or is this simply something that was overlooked? Genuinely curious since this seems quite odd for what it is supposed to be at first which seemed like a strong single target and equally as strong multitarget attack but at later levels it seems like its focus has shifted to a stronger single target attack compared to its value as a multitarget attack.

    So, have you met Dia and its doubled MP cost relative to its pre-upgraded state?

    I jest. These oversights should be fixed; they just also happen to be sadly par for the course at this point.

    30 -> 40 -> 40% (280 -> 294 -> 306) would better do the trick.

    Think it has to do with controlling dmg output
    from HW to StB dmg spikes up each expansion
    though with stat squish this isn't as apparent as it use to be
    but I do agree this is a dumb possible oversight that I think they should look into

    The formulas that create our damage and healing numbers change behind the scenes especially across expansions. I don't see why they would choose to complicate the player tooltips and make our tools seem weaker when they could just adjust the numbers we can't see instead. I have no problem accepting that all my healing tools get relatively weaker compared to the health pool of my party as I level. Physick on Scholar is almost a Benediction in Satasha but a wasted GCD in almost every case once I hit End Game. I'm still going to be frustrated more by the fairy potency reading inaccurately since it's information intended for me to understand how my abilities work relative to each other. Leveling up and getting a weaker AoE skill feels ridiculous.

    Remember this is the same team that quality tested and officially released a WHM patch where Dia became a direct downgrade from Aero II.

    It's an oversight and they basically don't care because it doesn't affect any content that matters.

    Well, 200 more MP for 20% more potency (A2 is 550 total; Dia is 660 total) is hardly a "direct" downgrade, but yes.

    That it "doesn't affect any content that matters" is the sadder part, in that there's no real content outside of boss-bashes and the only very occasional up to 3-target cleave therein (assuming the adds don't have to be instantly split anyways).

    He means before the Aero 2 nerf. Last patch they did 60 up front, 60 for 30 seconds, but Dia cost 200 more. They nerfed Aero 2 last patch to "fix" it.
