That's actually aggravating. I really wish that I knew Japanese (or another translated language) enough to get a more authentic experience of the story.I'd say one of the most...egregious changes that's only present in EW's English localization is some optional dialogue from G'raha pre-Aitiascope where he remarks on how innocent souls were completely destroyed by the turning incidents, yet Amon/Fandaniel and the Ancients who "set in motion calamities" by summoning Zodiark get to persist in the cycle of life/death in spite of the chaos they wrought, then concludes that is there is a cosmic justice in the world, he doesn't understand it.
In the other translations, he actually praises the Ancients for originally saving the world by summoning Zodiark instead of lumping them into the same crowd as Amon. It's hard not to see the change as anything but blatant spite-writing by someone with a considerably more negative view of them...which shows in other places like the adjectives being used to describe the nameless Ancients being more negative even back in 5.0 with the Amaurotine shades.
