Let me know when you become fluent in Japanese then, because I can speak Japanese and English and we have the same damn script/plot points as the Japanese. Subtle differences in localizations does not change anything. Then the translator failed in their job. You might as well use google translate and just piece it together yourself. Again though, why are you so adamant about this? You won, we get a localized version of the script, not a proper translation. No need to spike the ball. :^)
People have already cited multiple examples of how the subtle differences can have not-so-subtle effects on how a scene can be interpreted or how easily it's understood.
It's easy to say it doesn't change anything from your perspective, but XIV appeals to a wide audience and what comes across as painfully obvious to one individual can be extremely confusing to another, even in the case of people who are actually trying to pay attention to the lore and take it all in. I often see others asking for clarity to scenes/events I had no trouble understanding both on the lore forums and in-game; some of which were not reliant on remembering details from earlier in the story.
Though I suppose whether or not it's worth "dumbing down" the script and making it drier for the sake of accommodating those who aren't as sharp is subjective.
