You're being petulant. Please read what I wrote. I understand it's long, but keep in mind: sometimes, it's not up to us translators. Sometimes, it comes from directly above us.

And if the guy directly above us is also the guy in charge of writing stuff for the game, then yeah. Expect a silly situation altogether.

Don't blame the localization team. Understand the situation first.

What’s your point? I didn’t say anything about the translators I said the *localization* is making unnecessary changes, regardless of if it falls upon a single person’s shoulders or not. I’m really failing to see what this has to do with the quality of the localization.

Yeah. But without understanding the situation, just saying "the localization" doesn't really cut it. Stuff that you find "unnecessary" truly isn't when you understand what's going on.

TLDR: stop saying they're "unnecessary changes", when it's not even their job to change things. Their job is to do what the scope established for them is. What was "unnecessary" to you really depends on what the team works with. And that's what I explained.

The localization team is being directed to make bad changes. Is that good enough for you?

Sure. But I don't think you understand what my grievance is with you. Nor do I think you even want to know other than constantly complain.

But in the case you do, I'll keep it simple: Do you understand the situation at all? WHERE that direction is coming from? And from that, I'll also ask. "Is it a change"? Or are they being given creative freedom themselves to do what they did?

Because to me this isn't a localization in and of itself, it just incorporates localization in it. What they're doing is adding their voice and being involved in the development process. Hence why I say "they make 2 games". Not "they change JP", they make two different versions. Probably one after another, but what's added to the 2nd one is likely debated after the japanese team lays the groundwork. And this isn't localization. This is them being devs of their own version. Which, as stated, they can.

You’re trying so hard to divert attention away from the issue. I don’t care WHOSE fault it is. I don’t. The *localization*, the product of the game being localized to English, is full of incongruencies with other languages and inconsistencies between lines that don’t exist in other languages. The *English localization* has issues. This is how we plebs who aren’t ~pruhfesshunal translaters~ know it to be, regardless of how much you complain about how wrong we are. You can call them whatever you want or say you don’t mind the changes, but a lot of us do. Putting it in terms of “they’re making a different game” doesn’t change my opinion on the creative liberties taken. “They could be given full creative liberty,” don’t care, don’t want them to.

...ah okay, so basically when someone comes to you and tries to explain you the situation for you to get better informed, you react like a petulant child. Gotcha mate.

It does change at least who to blame. And saying "this is the localization's problem" when the reality is that there isnt' really a "problem" so much so as "you just don't like the way the game is designed" really just shows that you really don't know who to pin the fault to.

You didn't know the situation, and as you say, you don't care nor want to.

But there are people who work hard on this, and they deserve their own credit. If you don't like the work, then at least get what the hell is going on before reacting like a three year old.

"This is how we plebs who aren’t ~pruhfesshunal translaters~ know it to be"

Well then, self-proclaimed "pleb", start learning.

If a scientist came over and told you to stop doing something because you don't get what it is you're doing wrong, will you react like that as well? Like a child?
