This frequency of English localization issues is unacceptable

I think it would be better to play the scenes back to back in video, rather than single out of context dialogue boxes (I'm implying there's a chance that what Y'shtola is saying here will match what she says in French/Japanese with the full scenes played out).

That said, I'm pretty sure the localisation team still works very closely with the Japanese team or something (unsure if this has changed over the years. I just recall a thread made by someone on the localisation team some years back explaining how things were being done).

If I'm not mistaken, the old localization team (Who worked on the game until somewhere in late HW or SB to my knowledge) is the one who's praised for their excellent work but they have been moved to work on FFXVI.
The current one has worked on both ShB and EW to my knowledge but unsure of any other details.
Please for anyone with more info please correct me if I'm wrong or lacking.

And they have always taken some liberties as the team works closely with the writers.

Literally nothing has changed. People complained about Koji all the time with his "localisations" too. Honestly, the first example isn't really even that different, it conveys the same meaning to me.

It has nothing to do with being a Zodiark 'fan boy'. Let's not forget that the only reason Zodiark needed to be called forth in the first place was due to Venat refusing to forewarn her people of the approach of the Final Days. As a consequence, Zodiark needed to be conjured forth in order to ensure that Etheirys persisted - which is what the first and second set of willing sacrifices accomplished.

I've been comparing the EN version to the FR localisation for some time now and there were some other issues which come to mind as well, where points of information are completely dropped out altogether (in yellow) - the three which come to mind are these - there's a few more from EW which I will post if I get some time later on, where you have further context dropped:

We're hardly a hive mind. With that said, there's certainly many posters who have contributed to the thread(s) outlining the issues and inconsistencies with the narrative framing complete with sources directly reinforcing the points raised. It's hardly coming out of nowhere.

Why? It's directly relevant to this topic. What "havoc" has Y'shtola or any Scion personally seen Zodiark unleash? The sacrifices were voluntary and essential to summon him at that stage in the star's demise, and it makes zero sense to be what she could be referring to. The French version makes considerably more sense in this context, i.e. the potential misuse he could be put to.

You have the right of it. Koji Fox was in charge of the English localisation up until Shadowbringers and then quietly left to go and work on FFXVI. We didn't learn this, however, until Endwalker when it was casually mentioned in one of the Live Letters.
