Ah were all at fault here! Were all whining for some reason or another! :P

>.> What's even going on in this thread? The drama never fails with you guys lol.
Basically the only problem with not showing the trailer at E3 is exposure and the lack thereof. That's all. At this point it won't change what 2.0 is or isn't but it might impact how many people pay attention when 2.0 launches. I just hope that since E3 will be quiet for XIV info that when they do start their marketing campaign it will be in as big of a way as an E3 presentation would have been.
I don't think E3 would have been too soon, in fact I fear the marketing blitz will happen too fast and be gone in a flash and people will blink and forget about it, and by people those who are not keeping up with the game at all, those are the ones that E3 would have targeted better. We'll see what happens I guess.
Exactly. The moment you state you're disappointed with the decision or you think it's a bad idea, you're instantly thrown into the naysayer category and viceversa. I do partially blame this on the fact that the letter is a tad unclear though.
This is another thing that's bothering me because they never stated this trailer is CGI only, yet there's so many claiming WHO CARES IT'S JUST A CGI TRAILER ANYWAY! I would absolutely agree with them IF ONLY we knew that it really was a CGI only trailer, but we don't.
Oh I truly wish a certain someone listened to you about this, but surely they won't. Fortunately the ignore list works wonders.
I admit I'm kind of disappointed in SE for missing this opportunity to drum up excitement for 2.0 with new players. We here following the game already aren't really missing anything because we'll all see the promotions when they ARE released. But a lot of people who don't follow XIV's progress as closely or at all are going to miss out entirely, which in my admittedly novice opinion (in terms of marketing) is a huge missed chance to draw in new players which the game is in sore need of.
It would have been downright outrageous to charge monthly fees (charging for the actual game was bad enough) for the unfinished mess this game was at release. Also, they had no choice but to let us keep our characters, or there would be no reason to play. I would hardly call these things rewards, more neccessities.
The Legacy campaign was a good move, though, but it works both ways since players who have been on the fence have to subscribe now if they want the Legacy status.
At the end of the day, no matter how you put it, we're still sitting here two years on with an unfinished game, more or less beta-testing it (and even paying money to do so). Yeah, I'd still say we're patient.
Considering NA is a big part of their player base you think they would have more to showcase @ E3. rehashing old information that anyone can freely look on lodestone to see and whoah wait we got this new site for when more information comes out is just a waste. LAME Yoshi.
There's other reasons too. Most people don't bother and assume everyone is on one side which is "GIMME GIMME I WANTZ NOWW" and the other side is "I FULLY SUPPORT DERE DECISIONS FROM MARKETING STANDPOINT." And then you have all the assumptions. People just assume everything is the way they think it is "Oh trailer automatically means cgi trailer. There's never been gameplay footage in it." and on the other side people are expecting gameplay footage. No one really knows anything about it. I wish people would stop assuming either way. e3 is a big event regardless what anyone says. And they will loose future customers because of that. I want this game to thrive more than anything. I just hope it was really was a good choice they made.
Also, to people complaining about people complaining about the trailer. You're whining as well.
Yes, but im not whining from a point of extreme ignorance/lack of common sense/insert insult here. There's nothing wrong with complaining. There *is* something wrong with complaining about something that you don't even comprehend. The least ppl could do with their complaints is exercise common sense. I'm *all* for complaining, but let's at least pretend to have brain cells when we do it yeah? The complaints in the thread are just retarded, especially considering a trailer without information was *not* going to do *anything* to drum up any sort of mass interest. From a marketing perspective, all it would've been to gamers was a fail game with a new trailer. And anyone with a shred of common sense could see that, but all the community is good for these days is face-rolling drivel on their keyboards.
It has nothing to do about whining, its all about complaining while using some brain matter. I mean cmon, you have to see these ludicrous conclusions are just that...ludicrous.
