I'm sure they have a good reason for making us wait another two months, but it's really hard to say that I'm not feeling a little angry and disappointed that they decided to do this out of the blue, just days before the original fabled unveiling date. And it's also really hard to say that I wasn't totally counting down the days until E3, waiting for that 2.0 trailer to tide me over for another few months until release...
Also, in what way would not showing the 2.0 trailer at such a large scale event like E3 help them? That's the only thing that kinda boggles me. It's not like they wouldn't be able to "flood" people with info still after unveiling the trailer, assuming the finished one they have now is the same one they will show us in two months. Ah, well.
Here's hoping the new website is right after E3, and not like, months later. Also, it better have a ton of screenshots and info on the new genders![]()

I will not heed your worthless cries.
E3 has more notoriety then Gamescon. Yes gamescon may have more pple attending but you must remember that E3 is by invites only and is not intended for the general public. There is a good reason why hardware companies like Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft chose E3 to announce next-gen platforms. I am not saying Gamescon is small or not important, but it doesn't have the same global media coverage and reputation E3 built over the years.
E3 is probably the most recognizable event in the gaming industry. Every single gamer out there has heard and is probably following E3. A lot of great games will be covered at E3 but that doesn't mean that people or the press will ignore 2.0 just because Resident Evil 6 is a bigger deal. Both games will get their attention and the mmo fans will look forward to more 2.0 news if what they see is interesting to them.
But sadly they probably won't see anything since they pulled the plug on the trailer and interviews do not appeal to the younger audience, who only care to see flashy videos.
True story! Most Japanese developers use Tokyo Game Show for their huge news, given as it's in Japan, and they're Japanese.
E3 is a joke anymore, it's all about getting the biggest name you can afford to promote Call of Duty 4: Black Ops 2: Modern Warfare 3: The Expansion 6.
Final Fantasy XIV was first announced during the Sony Press Conference in 2009. It was only mentioned there because it was "Sony Exclusive" and fit in with the trailer for Final Fantasy XIII. If it wasn't being made for the PlayStation 3, it wouldn't have even been mentioned at E3.

I kinda prefer the idea of a brand new site, Its alot more informative than a trailer and no doubt we'll get a bunch of new info with it. Also I think a panel would be interesting rather, answering Q&A and showing off concept art, new models etc. But yeah I agree that trailers are a really good way to hype up newcomers if not a bit misleading

The latest letter is out but still no mention of E3. Sure sounds like XIV and 2.0 will be keeping a low profile at E3. I don't expect anything more than interviews, not even artwork.
