Can you confirm something for me?

This morning I saw this posted in a discord channel:


As far as I can tell this is a new hairstyle

Using the background elements viewable in the image as a guide it would appear that this NPC should be standing here:


As you can see they are not there in my game. However this is also the location where the Event Quest is turned in at so they might only exist there while the quest is active. Furthermore this NPC might have also been present in Limsa during earlier portions of the quest as well.

It would also appear this NPC and hairstyle were included in the official art as well:


So to reiterate my request if you haven't completed the quest yet:
1) Can you confirm this NPC exists while the quest is active?
2) Can you get some additional screenshots of the hairstyle?
3) Can you post screenshots here so we can better determine if it is actually a new hairstyle?

I haven't even started it yet but it would be shocking if a third reward was in the event since SE loves to show off the new items you can get in the event's promo page. Did your friend just replace an existing hair style with a datamined hairstyle? It would be pretty cool if there were hidden rewards in the event!

I checked all the NPCs at the gold saucer and didn't see another hairstyle added anywhere

on another forum I did get a reply that this is a new hairstyle and the NPC definitely appears at the very end of the quest line in the Gold saucer:

apparently she's getting hit on by Wawalago

and then vanishes after the quest is turned in

but yah I'm kinda surprised that the hairstyle wasn't an additional reward since they included it in the official art for the event

so better pictures from different angles could still be nice to see if you can capture those whenever you do the event

this can be a new hairstyle obtained in game (i really hope) and certainly for all the races and m/f characters like other hairstyles.

Either the NPC got hotpatched out or someone is taking you for a ride. I just finished the quest and the NPC is there but untargetable. Unless they are doing nefarious things like packet manipulation and the server not checking to see if they can or can't talk to it I think someone is taking you for a ride m8.

My mistake. The NPC does exist and it does have the hair style! I got overly excited and thought the devs accidently whoopsied a vendor they didn't mean to on live servers, lol.

yah it's a weird way to debut a hairstyle imo
I completely overlooked it while I was doing the quest on my main and alts lol

It's not at all the first time they've put player hairstyles on NPCs before their official release. One of the NieR dwarves was shown to have the Early to Rise hairstyle before that was available, and in one of the Firmament quests – I think the dragon's custom deliveries – there's a character using a hairstyle that was not yet added to the Firmanent shop. (That one was subtle though; he was wearing a hat so it wasn't really obvious.)
