Dev team, please fix the healer role

I feel like a good reason for us having very few DPS abilities/spells, is that if we had a more complex DPS rotation with combos, GCDs, and oGCDs, there would be people prioritizing their DPS over healing people.

There's so little outgoing damage in this game that you spend 80% of your play time not healing people. So what do you / they expect healers to do? Sit on their thumbs and do nothing until a raidwide happens?
