On Primal there's 20+ lotto entries on basically every open small plot. There's les than 5% chance of getting anything. The lottery is a good system and I give SE props for their effort.

You poor thing, I'm sure you'll manage somehow.
Player
I don't have one lol. Couldn't afford one even if I did want one and I've long since acknowledged the fact that the devs clearly never intended for everyone to be able to get a house. You might, get one or you might not. At this point nothing is really going to change with housing as its obvious they want the neighborhood feeling with FCs.
Do what I did, give up after realising it was never gonna happen, and put the housing money into minions and mounts. Housing only tethers a sub and offers no actual account progression. Percentages are forever!
I felt much better about housing after giving up completely. I was sick of feeling punished for trying to engage with the system. Placard clicking, lottery, they're all as bad as each other. You can waste your time over a 12 hour period at 1/4 odds, tempting RSI, or you can waste your time over a week at 1/200 odds. If my options are crap either way, then "whatever" I thought to myself. Esp since if you didnt get one on the first two waves, you probably wont ever get one.
I do have a plot yet ill reply anyways... YES it still sucks, but its still less bad then before... ive had my friend try for ONe plot he wanted, as it was his lucky number in both, house and ward and while some others aplied too and i was insisting to rent him more gil for more tries, he refused and said that one or none - he actually got it lol.
Just dont give up.
lottery was a horrible idea
So which of those was better? First Come, first serve that we started with? Placard camping which only lead to more bots than players? Ultimately out of the bad situation with the limited amount if houses the lottery is probably the most fair solution
Any system of purchase is an horrible idea, if some major parts are disabled or crooked. Be it auto-demo not active, the ratio fc to private wards, simply far too few, etc. etc. etc.
No matter what Squeenix did around the issues so far, all were thought through only half-arsed, or plain stupid.
Lottery was destined to be like this because it doesn't address the core issue of the system.
Until the supply/demand of housing isnt so hilariously lopsided that the supply can only meet >5% of the demand, the systems are going to be poorly received.
Don't give up also they need to put auto demo back on permanently.
