PC/Mogstation to Steam account question

I've got a quick and a brief question, if anyone would be able to help me - would it be possible to change my regular PC FFXIV account into Steam one? As in, if I were to buy Steam version of FFXIV and log in with my regular username/password, would it be able to convert my normal account to Steam? Or is the PC account "unchangeable" once made?

Nope. They are mutually exclusive.

can you buy a steam one? yes. you can own a PC account and a Steam account. however, they are two distinct and different accounts. you would not be able to transfer characters from one account to the other.

your pc username and password is for the pc account only. the log in process see's a steam account as different.

On the plus side, the Steam version can be a nightmare, (At least that's what I've read about). However, if you want the steam overlay, you can manually add the launcher to Steam and open it from there and you will get the steam overlay at that point.

In the end I did as DragonFlyy suggested, added it as a non-steam game (though I hoped for a way for a full integration). Still, thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it!

Afaik, the only difference is regional pricing for certain regions and dependency upon an additional party (added point if potential failure) Steam does nothing but launch the standard launcher.
