I partially get the impression that the question of the thread is missing something: 'What's the point of doing savage if you cant clear it?" seems to be the actual question in OP's mind.
The savage stuff is mainly only there for the Min-max tryhards that want to have bragging rights for the tier. Some parts have different stats allocated to them so not all item level 600 gear parts are the same
Show us on the doll where the casual savage raiders hurt you.
Do it for the challenge. Do it for the achievements. But most importantly do it for the real endgame which is glamour and mounts.
If you can't do it then I suppose you could step back, work towards getting better and trying again? Because if you attempted it in the first place you have some sort of baseline interest. I don't think there are too many people that tried Savage and then gave up forever after a few wipes.
1. GLAM
2. MOUNTS
3. Challenge (being a masochist helps)
3. To do something different once in a while? There are limited number of dungeons and trials. Whats the point of doing that every day?
Yeah and also to unlock ultiamte, but personally I did them even without doing ultimate. Now, its pretty good that I did them cause I started to dip into Ultimate and I did not need to worry about unlocking.
All in all. You don't need to do it. Others do it for one thing or another. P4 I did purely for colorable glam. I really wanted to have tank chest to be colored WHITE, cause the original white has grey undertone but if you color it pure white it becomes black undertone and I LOVE IT.
If you are not for it, then try other parts of the game, I just recently finished doing a bunch of skysteel relics for my crafters, and ooooh boi was it a journey.
Either you do them or you don't. Nobody's forcing you to.
You get to unlock ultimate but if you don't want the challenge of savage in the first place, not needed.
You can run the old savage content unsynced if you want the glams or mounts.
I would progress a Savage tier for the dyeable sets and the mount at the last fight.
