Getting a constant connection error

I've been playing FF14 with no problems until today. Today, whenever I fire up the launcher, I basically get a box with the WoL on it, and 3 lines of "A connection error occurred. Please try again later." My friends are able to log in perfectly fine.

No windows updates have happened since I last played and today.

Pinging Square Enix there is no data loss.

I have tried re-installing, restarting my pc and router, downloading the non-steam version of the launcher and using that, tried restoring the game data.

Everything else connected to my pc works fine with the internet.
However, it works perfectly fine on my laptop (which isn't good enough to run ff14 even on the lowest settings).

Good morning! And thanks for the reply

Error messages received (If applicable): not getting any error numbers, I basically launch FF14, and the launcher app - where you log in - just shows "A connection error occurred. please try again later."
Wired or WIFI connection? My PC is running a wired connection; my laptop is on wifi on the same connection. This problem isn't showing on my laptop, but my laptop isn't good enough to run the game.
Are there other programs being used when running FFXIV? I've tried without any other programs open. I usually use the steam version, but downloaded the windows launcher to try without any other programs, and am getting the same issues.
When the disconnect occurs/How often? There is no disconnects; this is the first time this has happened, and it's been going on for about 17 hours now, everything was fine the day before this started.
Does this only happen to one character or all characters? It's not affecting any character, it's affecting my ability to even log in.

Please try these general connection troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the issue:

■ Restart communication equipment
Power off your communication equipment for 30 minutes to an hour. Unnecessary data accumulated on the equipment will be initialized, possibly allowing for smoother transmission.

■ Update firmware of communication equipment
Update your firmware, the program running your communication equipment. If the firmware is outdated, your communication equipment may not function properly, so please update your firmware before trying the version update again.

*Consult with the help manual of your hardware when updating firmware. Also, even if your firmware is up to date, rewriting the update may improve the situation.

■ Check settings for security programs and firewalls
There is a possibility that security programs and firewalls are interfering with files related to the game. Please disable these programs before attempting to run FINAL FANTASY XIV. As a last resort, please try uninstalling them for testing purposes.

■ Check security services of your Internet provider
Depending on your Internet provider or service plan, there may be security services included. Please confirm that these security services permit online gaming. If they do not, or if you are unsure, contact your ISP for further details.

■ Close any running applications
Because other applications may interfere with your update, close all other running apps before running the installation file. You can perform a clean boot to ensure no other background programs are interfering with the installation by doing the following:
