The stacking vuln down mechanic seems to be a step towards trying to get players to more consistently do fight mechanics as a stack applies when a player fails to avoid an avoidable attack. Though I've seen 4 player duties still cleared while the tank was sitting at 8 stacks. DR took it one step further with the twice come ruin debuff that just outright killed players if they failed 2 mechanics within the span of a minute.

The only real issue I have with the misdirection mechanic is that it doesn't effect all jobs equally. Jobs with targeted move abilities that select party members or a floor location can just about ignore it.
